Gregg and Christine Cook, along with their family have truly carved a piece of heaven out of the wilderness. Gregg's effort to make this a great experience for guessed is via unsurpassed customer service. If you need it, want it, think of it, Gregg and family strive to provide it. The cabins are spotless, warm and comfortable. The surrounding rain forest are full of eagles, fish, and deer.||Gregg is highly thought of in the community, neighbors are always dropping by and they always seem to add to the Alaskan adventure feel and friendliness of the State.||||If you want to visit Alaska, don't take a cruise, go to Alaska Fish Tales Lodge.

Great trip to see whales. The boat appeared to be new and was very clean and comfortable. We saw what appeared to be 20 different whales. The captain was very cautious of the whales and kept a good distance from the boat to the whales. The crew Kenny and Sarah were very friendly and knowledgeable. I especially liked Kenny because he was very outgoing and knowledgeable of whales and their habitat. Great tour and very much worth the cost. I recommend this tour with no hesitations.

Having never traveled to Alaska before I certainly wasn't ready for the accommodations provided at Alaska's Fish Tales Lodge. I've been to dozens and dozens of rural locations on similar trips and must admit being overwhelmingly, and pleasantly surprised. Lid blown back, that's a testament to the distortion of the reality I encountered. Whale Pass in Alaska was what I expected; a small, rural, community of locals (less than 100) and the occasional transplant with civilization far far far far in the rear view mirror and thousands of miles away from parking garages back at O'Hare airport.||Christine Cook was able to meld a family atmosphere with genuine benevolence and gift wrap it into a daily adventure during our stay. The private cabins afforded us all the comforts you would expect to find in the more densely populated travel destinations, without the egregious, suffocating effect I'm apt to encountering from seasonal staff experienced elsewhere. Realizing the distance of small, creature comforts, they were instinctively prepared and extremely accommodating.||You'll discover that Greg Cooks's overall knowledge of all things Alaska and temperament a welcoming treat, with his southern charm. ||His boy's I may have been the most impressed with and can handle Alaska's daily challenges with the aptitude of lifelong, seasoned veterans 25 years their senior. ||I was so thoroughly enamored by everyone I met and just so grateful for the experience I decided to write this review hoping a few of my words could capture it, but the pictures sure do help as well.||Greg's Fish Tales Lodge is well suited for a family retreat, entertaining business clients, reuniting friends or I would even go by just by myself!

The experience of a lifetime! We went in a group of 7 with 2 pre-teen kids and we had a blast the whole time. We caught lots of fish every day in late June...Halibut, Ling Cod, Black Rock Bass, Salmon, and many species we had to let go. Dave, the lodge manager and captain, had some well placed pots that ensured we had our fill of crab legs and giant prawns as well! We were a little nervous about figuring out the ferry transfer and navigating from the airport, but again, Dave had a great system to ensure we found him ready to shuttle us to the property. This is the place to go in Whale Pass for sure! We can't wait to go back!

You won't find a host that works harder to make your adventure the best it can be. David works tirelessly to ensure your time spent in that wild and wonderful place is comfortable and exciting. The new boat, 26' Hewes Craft is comfortable and great to fish out of. Oh, and did I mention he's a great cook. Just go, you'll love it.

Gregg and Christine Cook are amazing people...real Alaskan's. They have thought of everything you might need or want in such a remote place. The cabin was superb! It was clean, bright and warm. And the beds were so comfortable. Everything was more than we could imagine. I can't stop thinking about the place and would go back right now if I could.
