Alaska Lake + Lodge at Longmere

This place was a pleasant surprise. It is located slightly out of town, but it is new, clean and spacious. We had a two bedroom unit with a furnished kitchen. All of the rooms are tastefully decorated. Parking is easy. The family that manages the property is super helpful. We really appreciated the great hospitality. We had a great experience.

I do not like leaving bad reviews. But this place made my expensive vacation miserable. And I think others should be aware. When you arrive to check in there is nobody on site and no instructions. I had to call several times and nobody answered. About 30 minutes later I started to leave to find another hotel and then they returned my call. They then instructed you on a keypad code for your key to unlock your door. I was not the only one that experienced this over the next several days. Several other guests knocked on my door, trying to find the office and how to get in, and could not reach anybody by phone. They had the same experience. My room looked nothing like the pictures. The rooms are very loud. You can hear everybody on each side of your room what they’re talking about what they’re watching and even all night snoring. On top of that, you have a busy highway in your backyard that it’s so loud you can’t even hear your TV unless the volume is all the way up On the site, it makes it look like you’re next to the lake or Lake views but you have neither the lake is down the street and you have no view at all of it My bathroom window would not close. So if you would like natural air conditioning, you might want this room. It gets very cold. Very disappointed.

I had the good fortune of staying at this lodge in May 2023. OMG!!! So amazing. For a brand new lodge they do things the right way. The rooms are HUGE and very comfortable. The mattresses are so amazing I tried to figure out who made them to buy for my next bed. The sheets, comforters, etc. are high quality. When you lie down it's like sinking into a cloud. ||All amenities are top quality, from the furnishings to the linens, towels, etc. The bathroom is large and has a great soaking tub/shower. ||And the location is convenient to town, about 8 minutes to restaurants, shopping, etc. The lodge is across the street from Longmere lake and from the upstairs suites and rooms you can see the lake over the trees. ||I highly recommend this lodge for anyone visiting the area for fishing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, etc.

She took great care of me and my father. She anticipated our needs while there, for example, put us in a room on ground level so my 91 year old dad wouldn't have to walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor. She also had great advice on things to do/see while there and even made a restaurant reservation for us at The Flats Bistro. (a must try). The location is convenient to town, about 5-8 minutes to restaurants, shopping, etc. The lodge is across the street from Longmere lake and from the upstairs suites and rooms you can see the lake over/through the trees. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone visiting the area for fishing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, hunting, ATV riding, etc.

I have stayed in many hotels, but this was the best experience, is so private sorounded by trees. We even saw a moose It didn’t feel like a hotel. This was a true lodge,the service was great!

The room was lovely and I appreciated the microwave and frig. There was no hairdryer which was on the amenities page though. Loud traffic all night.Thank you.
