My family recently stayed at Mountain Thunder Lodge in Breckenridge and it was amazing! The location was perfect for what we were needing. It was at the base of the mountain, at the end of 4 o’clock run, and the entrance to the underpass to the gondola. This provided an easy ride back to our lodge from the mountain for lunch and at the end of the day, and a perfect spot so we could walk to Main Street never needing to move our car from the garage. The garage had plenty of parking, and it fit our Subaru ascent with a large cargo carrier on the roof rack. The room was clean, provided plenty of towels, and extra bedding. There was a box fan that was much appreciated by my family. The kitchen was fully stocked and everything was in perfect condition and clean. We were even pleasantly surprised with the blender so that we could make our smoothies that my kids love and we thought we wouldn’t be able to provide. The pool and hot tubs for the lodge were all over but we were thankful to have one directly out our door. They were both heated and wonderful. Towels were always stocked! The locker room for our boards was clean and easy to find and each room had its own locker unit. Capable of holding a lot of gear. Three snowboards and three pairs of boots and more. This truly felt like a home away from home, making our snow vacation that much better. I would highly recommend this to all of my Friends and we definitely plan on staying in the same location again.

The kitchen was nicely stocked, I appreciated the hosts supplies of humidifiers and fans as well as a stocked toiletries and kitchen supplies. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Right across the street from the gondola. Didn't give stars for service bec we didn't receive any.

2-21-25 no hot water. 2-22-25 no hot water. Arrived at 9pm, staff knowingly gave us room with no hot water for shower, that we paid full price on. Manager off all weekend, how bout that. Besides that- good location- poorly ran resort.

In November 2024 my wife and I booked a ski trip at Mountain Thunder Lodge for a week in January 2025. Unfortunately, just before Christmas an out of control skier at Stowe Mountain Resort ran into me, breaking my leg in multiple places. The accident required surgery and the insertion of plates and screws. Mountain Thunder Lodge has a very strict cancellation policy and initially refused either to refund the cost of our stay (which we paid up front) or to extend our stay to the following year. However, Dustin Stokes of Breck Hospitality ultimately stepped in and bent over backwards to apologize and to ensure that the cost of our planned trip was refunded to us. Dustin was professional, courteous and understanding. Hopefully, I’ll be able to ski again by next year. If so, we will not hesitate to book our stay with Mountain Thunder Lodge.

Had a great experience staying at mountain thunder lodge. I had to reach out to the front desk a couple of times and they were always very kind and easy to work with! Rooms were incredibly clean and the beds were super comfy. I loved being able to park in the underground garage for no additional fee. We will definitely be staying here again!

Beautiful resort. Amazing accommodations. Comfortable beds and so peaceful during the summer. I wish we'd visited a week later, because the gondola was closed. Bring your own pillow, if you're used to larger ones. But I'd definitely recommend this stay.

I am writing this review as we are checking out at 8:30am on Tuesday, July 2. We were very disappointed in our stay for our family reunion which had 20 people and we stayed 3 nights. Be aware there Is NO AC. They do provide 2 box fans for your room but for a 2-bedroom room this was not useful. Our fridge was not working properly and we had to move all of our meat to the freezer to keep it safe. Also, we discovered the window valence in the main room was broken and one of the pieces was placed behind the sleeper couch and we had a broken slat in the shades. Also, we were not informed till we checked in on a piece a paper, not by the woman who checked us in that there is no “daily” housekeeping and for a fee you could have housekeeping even if it was just taking out your old towels and garbage. When I called downstairs they said they would send someone right up but took the very rude maintenance man 3 hours to come look at it. When he did get to our room he was very condescending and said the fridge must have been left open as his temperature gun was saying the fridge was in a safe zone but did say moving the meat to the freezer was good to do. Also, we came back to our room every night to discover our room was full of weed smell. We did let front desk know and they said there was nothing they could do if they were smoking outside of their rooms. Mind you, we were on the 3rd floor. We also asked Aubrey at the front desk if there was any kind of breakfast in the resort since there was a large room with tables and catering equipment setup and was told no I don’t think so but you probably don’t want to eat what we make and you are better off going into town to have breakfast. Also, we discovered that there is black mold In the primary bathroom above the door frame that appeared to have been painted over. Upon checking out on 7/2, I explained to Sean of my concerns and he was very apologetic but said we should have called them to let them know of the weed smell we should have called the front desk and I said we we did. For what we paid for our stay, it was quite disappointing and we will never stay here again.

Had a great time in this unit. Great views, pretty quiet, and very clean. Had everything we needed for cooking meals and a coffee maker. Location is right at the bottom of the 4 o'clock run to the gondola, so getting off the mountain is easy. Quick 8 minute walk to the gondola and main street.
