NillMy husband and I stayed 3 days and nights in cabin 5. We loved it! It was very cozy and warm. The area is gorgeous no matter the season. The family that runs the resort is very kind and welcoming.

★Not as advertised - do not trust the photos. Cabin was not only uncomfortable but unsafe. Great view of the lake if you don't mind stepping off a three foot drop-off through the patio door that does not have a patio attached to it. No wifi except in the lodge which stops serving food or drinks at 5pm. It is in the middle of nowhere! Only heat came from a small electric heater and the check-in staff was not too friendly.

★★★★★What a wonderful quaint little lodge and cabins! Ana, her daughter Jackie and entire family were very welcoming and friendly! We were in cabin #2 and it was perfect for our needs. The back porch and views were fabulous. If there was anything you needed Ana was there to help. The breakfast and homemade polish sausage were fantastic. Would recommend bringing your own grill and ice chest with ice as none available up on mesa.

★★★★★This is not a luxury destination, but it does what it does very well. Our cabin was basic, but clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. Sitting on the deck, watching the trout in Alexander Lake hit top-water at sunset, was perfect. Anna, Sylvester, and Joe were great hosts. The “special” breakfasts were hardy and provided great fuel for a day of hiking. The prime rib with homemade horseradish (woah!) was an unexpected treat. My wife and I look forward to visiting again.

★★Our stay was during the winter. Cute cabins. Our cabin had a great view. Having information ahead of time really helps. Check pictures of cabins to see the size of refrigerators since there are different ones in the cabins. We were not told our oven was broken so had to hike to another cabin to use the oven. We could have brought different meals had we known. Our cabin was too hot for us. You will be charged $200 if you adjust the propane heater. No WIFI in the cabins. The main building had WIFI but closed at 5pm. Parking was not right at the cabin. We had to hike through snow with all our luggage. We were not given enough supplies for our stay. Each day we had to hike to the main lodge for supplies like coffee, toilet paper, hair dryer etc. It was snowing when we left. CDOT had enough to do with keeping the main road plowed so could not plow side roads. Just so you are aware, the lodge is quite a way down a side road. We had to navigate the unplowed road when leaving. Not being familiar with the road and everything white with snow, we found it very difficult to know where the road was. If fact, we went the wrong way, got stuck, and had to call for a tow.

NillWhat great experience. The cabin was spotless and the beds were comfy. True to the nature of the high country in the spring we had a little snow come in the evening but everything melted off by mid-morning. We went the second to the last week of May and the lake that our cabin overlooked had not thawed, but the owners were able to give us directions to a lake a few minutes away where the fish were biting. I would caution everyone not familiar with living in high altitude environments to make sure that you bring warm clothing (it gets cold at night) and stay well hydrated. I would also recommend calling the lodge to talk with them about the local conditions before booking.

NillBest winter lodge in the mesa. The owners are really nice and the cabins are cozy. Bring some slippers or Crocs for the cabins since they are rustic and the floors can be cold in the middle of the night. Have stayed there at least 5 times in the past 3 years. Always come back for more. I cannot say enough nice things about our experiences.
