NillWe went during a slow time so not sure what it will be like when busy, but as for for our stay the unit was very clean and cosy but little out of date, hence the 4 star. Over all our stay was very relaxing and I would recommend this place for your Helen stay. We will be coming back here and staying in the same cabin we had this trip

NillWe got this room last minute during a holiday and was worried what it might be like. We loved it!! It wasn’t perfect, but it was clean, well stocked, comfortable, and a pretty view. We stayed in the Frankfurt building. You can park at the bottom of the hill and walk to the strip through a short gravel trail. Would definitely stay here again!

★★★I have stayed here in years past. This time the unit was old and needed updating. The place was clean enough but had not been serviced in a while. Black mold was growing on the toilet rim. A new policy was to have dishes washed and placed back in cabinets. I personally was not comfortable with not knowing how the previous occupant may have or have not cleaned them. I washed everything before it was used. Overall the place was ok but very disappointed that I had to pay a significant upgrade for such an old property.

★★★The location is great overall. The units are located on top of a very steep winding driveway with the amenities located at the bottom of the hill. From there it is a very short easy walk (about 6 minutes) into Helen. The resort is old and in need of paint and new furnishings. The carpet should be replaced and some of the vents had mold in them. Other than that the rooms were clean and comfortable. The unit was a nice size.

NillThe location is good. We walked from the property to the establishments. The property is on top of a hill. We arrived Saturday around 6pm, per email we have to call if will be arriving after 5pm but there were no answer. We got our keys from the security guard post, he welcomed us. They are closed on Sunday, and if you plan to check in on a Sunday, your keys will be in the guard post in an envelope. You will not be able to talk to them so don’t bother calling, just rely on this review. If you arrive before 4pm, maybe a staff will welcome you, otherwise it will be the security guard. The rooms are outdated but it’s ok. Saw a cockroach in the toilet. Again, their special instruction to call them in advance is a waste of time because no one will answer, I repeat no one will answer.

★We gave it a 1 because of the staff. The girl at the desk was very nice and helpful. This place is very dated and not maintained at all. Floor in kitchen was peeling up. Tiles in bathroom were broken. Whirlpool tub was dirty and had no way to hold the water in. There was broken glass in the hall way leading up to the door. The chairs on the patios feet were so rusty part of the leg fell off when we some pressure on it. The tvs looked like computer monitors with very bad reception. The dated leather couch was comfy and the fireplace works when you go buy wood for it. We were so grossed air and disappointed we left after one day.

NillWe planned a last minute trip to Helen before Christmas I wanted a cabin on the river with a hot tub & fireplace unfortunately everything was booked unless I wanted to pay a fortune for a 25 mile away cabin then pay for parking in town. I checked hotels in town but I would have to settle for a room with 2 double beds or rent 2 rooms to accommodate my family of 4 (2 teenage boys) I read all the reviews and booked directly through alpine crest online with a special 3rd night free. I received a verification email with dates, # of guest & price no other details were provided. Their communication on check in should be explained somewhere as it was very confusing I found out what to do from reading reviews on several different sites. We were planning to arrive at 4pm on Friday evening but got stuck in traffic and did not arrive until 7pm. Upon arriving you enter the guard house which no one is in find your welcome envelope with instructions & room keys it was a little confusing but I managed to find our building and thankfully our unit was ground level so no steps to climb. I had seen pictures online and read hundreds of reviews so I was expecting an old outdated rundown shack type of place but the price & location was an even exchange for me however when I walked in I was pleasantly surprised at how NICE the 2 bedroom 2 bath unit was not at all what I had imagined and an added bonus was a washer & dryer no where did anything mention that! No this is NOT a luxury resort you get what you pay for but it was definitely worth what I paid. The fireplace uses dura flame logs and you have to purchase those yourself Betty’s IGA in town has them & clean up your mess afterwards you are staying in a condo NOT a hotel so you will have a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, laundry detergent & trash bags you must purchase or bring anything else you’ll need, if you want this stuff daily you need to stay in a hotel where you have daily housekeeping there are no staff on the grounds from Friday 5pm through Monday 9am the club house has a pool table big screen tv, weight room, sauna, showers, huge heated pool & the largest hot tub I’ve ever seen with a large deck there wasn’t anyone in there after dark so we had the whole place to ourselves. There are 2 convenient ways to walk to town so we only had to drive from our unit down to the office or club house depending on which way we were walking into town you could walk from the unit but it’s a very steep hill we did not want to climb back up it took less than 10 minutes either way to get to the Main Street the unit was CLEAN it may be old but definitely not nasty we always bring our own pillows & blankets as most rental places including hotels do not wash the blankets. I was prepared to cover the couch & chair with sheets but didn’t need to as they were surprisingly clean as well. The 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds does NOT have a tv but we brought our own along with an extension cord. The jetted tub was great the switch on the wall has to be turned ON so the button in the tub will power the jets I boiled a couple pots of water on the stove to make sure the water was nice and hot as people had complained about how filling the tub used all the hot water so I had no issues with not having hot water the only NEGATIVE thing I can say is there’s extremely low water pressure it took forever to shower or fill the tub even filling the pots were time consuming but if all I have to complain about is water pressure I can definitely live with that! We had an amazing weekend and my family of 4 would happily stay here again

NillMy wife and I stayed 2 nights for a quick weekend getaway. We read the mixed reviews like others and still gave it a shot. The rooms are out dated and in need of major remodeling/ repairs. Mold on the walls and ceiling as well as dead roaches throughout. The room smelled musty and smoky. The indoor pool and hot tub was full of dead bugs. We did not see any staff on site and no one was there for check in or out. Although the location is great, I would not recommend this place until issues have been addressed. Edited to add: The shower pressure was non-existent. We had to run around to get wet in the shower.
