1st Interstate Inn Montrose

Would give a zero star if possible. Was running late due to an accident and no one ever answered the front desk after three different attempts. We drove over 6 hours to our non smoking room that we booked, just to be placed in a room that smelt like pure cigarettes, stains on the carpet, dirty bedding, stains on the wall, and to top it off a booger along the wall by the bed. After going to speak to the front desk, they denied that the room smelt of smoke and was smoke free. However, wasn’t willing to go check the room to confirm the state of condition. Also asked if we had disturbed the room which seemed like they were going to attempt to rent it to the next person as it was. This hotel is disgusting and doesn’t seem like an honest business. Take your family elsewhere. Due to no vacancies throughout the town and the only one being over an hour away, we had no other choice but to sleep in our car. Extremely disappointed and disgusted.

Positive: The front desk clerk. Negative: Very terrible selection for continel breakfast. Could easily provide just a couple more things that would make it better. fruit, bagels, eggs, biscuits and gravy.Etc

My daughter and I have rented a room at this motel since March 18 we have had nothing but a wonderful experience. The owners have been nothing more than kind to us. They actually care about their rooms and the property that they rent out. They work hard to keep their rooms, clean new looking and customers happy !!! Whenever we come back to Montrose, we will always make sure to rent A room from Danny and his wife! We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay in Montrose than here at the 1st. interstate motel!! Thank you, Danny and your family for becoming the newest additions to our family💕

Positive: The location in town. Negative: The hotel room smelled old and musty, and I was scared to go barefoot on the carpet. The shower leaked all over the floor of the bathroom, as the base of it is not constructed properly. The air conditioning unit didn't seem effective on a hot night.

Don't let the front office FOOL you.. the outside of this hotel is hideous, screens are sitting on the outside of the windows, beer bottles everywhere, needs an OVER ALL RENOVATION to the outside. Internet says it has a pool WELL it's there but NOT WORKING, NO WATER. we asked for conjoined rooms for our small children NOPE don't have that either. The only good thing was the price and location.

The lady at the service desk was rude, acted like she didn’t want to do her job. The room was dirty. I found a couple of pubic hairs on the bed sheet. Late at night, there was a loud fight going on in the next room that woke up me and my family. We decided to leave hours before check out time. The lady at the service desk was still rude when we turned in our keys. When we told her about the fighting going on in the next room and about how dirty our room was, she acted like she could care less. My family and I had also discovered later that our bed was infested with bedbugs. I highly recommend staying away from this place.

There was no one at the desk ever. The person at the desk when they did show up was rude. The hotel was empty we asked if we could get two double beds. She was so rude about it. Got our room. Room was clean not great but Clean. There were holes in the wall of the bathroom. The customer service was the worst. The price was nice.

I checked in about 45 minutes early. Entered the lobby and there was a sign stating to call if no one was at the desk. My call was answered and I had to wait just a few minutes before the clerk checked me in. I was surprised to find there was a kitchenette in the room. No supplies, but it was nice to know it was there. The window had been left open and the heater did not work. The room was very cold. I went to the lobby again and the clerk spoke to me through a camera device. It was hard to understand him on it. Eventually a friendly young girl did come down and explained that he would come to my room to fix the heater. I waited in my room for about 5 minutes before the heater turned on itself. I assumed it was something electrical and he fixed it on his end. As others have stated the lighting is not great in the room. For this reason I kept the shade open for more light and had one of the owners look into my room. It was very unsettling. I read in another review about housekeeping trying to get in. They have no placards to put on the door to state you do not want any housekeeping services. I was lucky enough to be in the room both times to state no thank you. Housekeeping was friendly. I was pleased to find a variety of channels on the TV and nice hot water. There were no smells in my room. Overall I didn't have as bad of an experience as some people did. I will not be staying here again.
