Cascades Motel

Fantastic stay if you're looking to be close to the beach.||||I have now stayed at Cascades Motel 5 times, and i have to say, that it is only getting better. There is new management, and new staff from earlier this year. And everyone is very friendly.||||They are very welcoming from day 1 ,and when you stay there, you feel like part of the family.||||This is my go-to hotel every time I visit Fort Lauderdale, because it's not only inexpensive, but it's conveniently close to the beach, shopping, restaurant, night life, Grocery stores, the pier, etc.||||The room had everything we needed in both kitchen and bathroom and was very clean and smelled great. But most importantly it had very comfortable beds as well.||||I can only recommend this family owned Motel to guest, who wants to feel at home, when they visit Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas.

After the review I saw, I was afraid to discover the place, but it was a really nice motel.||We were 5, and we arrived by night, the Motel handyman welcomed us really nicely (and borrow us a bottle opener for our beers!), ||||we entered our rooms (with kitchen + big frigde included) and everything was clean, the sheets were really white and towels as well, you also have some small soaps in the bathroom.||For sure it's not a 5* hotel, but when you are travelling in Florida, it's not to stay in the room anyway... all equipments where OK, and even if refurbishment could be good, it's a charming place, really well located.||||The man took good care of us, giving some advices, chatting with us at night by the swimming pool, where you have tables and grill avalable, and free WIFI and parking! which was really appreciable! A cosy and friendly place for small budget.

Now the hotel is called "Sky Islands". I would give it a better rating, because 2 of the 3 owners are actually pleasant to deal with, but the other owner is not nice at all. George, the Lebonese guy, is mean and combative towards everyone, especially women. He blamed me for cigarette butts all over the property, even though I always threw all of mine away and the ones on the ground weren't even my brand. He told me to clean all of them up, then yelled at my husband when he decided to clean them up for me in order to try to avoid conflict. He also had let himself into our room with his key, and stole my son's computer and one of our collectors knives. It's a generally safe location, but you won't be safe around this guy, walking around with his gun on his hip all day.

This place sucks! It has bed bugs, bugs, ants, the staff sucks except for the house keeper she tries to keep everyone happy. The so called manager wally cusses at the guest and pockets extra money in his pocket where he charges guest higher price of $100 and gives owner $65. He is very racist towards blacks. There is mold that is unbelievable and faulty wiring. They don't use bleach because poor house keeper has to beg for supplies. How do I know because I am an ex manager

The management will literally rob you blind! Do not stay here at all if you have any valuables!. Rooms are in horrible condition and prone to sewage backing up through the drains. The manager George is very rude and pompous, and will sneak into your room while your out! This place should be condemned and management are crooks! Better to be homeless than book a room here!

The room was the size of a showbiz for $700 a week and the place is dirty and infested with bugs. There was a bald guy who was their -maintenance man-, all he did was drink and make noise all night. As for room service nobody came. my advice is there is a lot of motels on ft Lauderdale beach, you could do better at any of them

Please save yourself a headache do not stay here. They tried to cancel our room after it was booked. The owner called and he agreed to keep his part of the deal . We only needed the room for one night. After we checked in and it was a few hours later they tell us there is a extra charge for my daughters. Sounds like a scam but did not want trouble so paid it. The room was in no way worth what we paid for it. The room was ok except the door would not lock properly and cockroaches. Will never stay here again.

Please do not stay here! The place is very shabby, we were greeted by two drunk shirtless men and a young woman who was decidely odd. The owner/manager arrived and the Adams family was then complete!! Suffice to say we slept with a chair wedged under the door handle, There is a reason why this place is cheap, it is vile!
