NillWhat a pleasant place to stay. We were last minute guests. Like they say no frills but what we had were comfy clean beds, clean rooms, plenty of grassy areas to walk a dog. Friendly staff. Highly recommend and do plan to visit again

NillStayed there a couple years ago, true it’s not a rich man’s place,it did have a damp smell, but the room was comfy,, the windows will open, they don’t have coffee , a mile up they have places to go to,not the best , but when I’m down that way again , would stay there, it’s fits my budget nice, maybe a weary poor traveler place

NillI like Mom& Pop motels because they are usually quaint and quiet and a reasonable price for one night. The Celtic motel, however, has not been updated. The cabin we stayed in was very roomy- two bedrooms, nice size full kitchen, however everything was outdate and showed lots of wear and tear. The place smelled very musty. It appears that some people might be permanent residents there. The location was good, close to Oneonta, NY. The gentleman on the phone when I made the reservation was very pleasant, as was the woman who checked us in. I would not stay again however.

★★★★I graduated college in Oneonta over 15 years ago and have visited many times since, but this little motel has always escaped me. Thanks to to other reviews here, I chose to stay here for a quick overnight visit last month to see friends and was so happy I did. ||||A mom and pop establishment, the management was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. It included a small table and chairs, and a well stocked kitchenette with lovely cabinets. It included dishes and utensils, a sink, microwave, toaster over, dish rack, and waffle maker. There's also a rather large fridge (bigger than the usual hotel cubes), which also had a freezer. The bathroom was clean, which was all that was important to me! ||||Flat screen TV, free wifi, AC unit--really nothing to complain about at all.||||The bed seemed pretty soft when I sat on it and I was a little worried I'd be in for a rough night's sleep, but it was actually quite fine and I slept well. ||||There is nothing fancy about this motel, but as someone who's very picky about cleanliness, I was pleasantly surprised.||||For the rate--about $60/night--this is definitely worth it! I will definitely consider them next time I'm in town! It's a short drive to the main part of town and down the road (less than 5 minute drive) to a Dunkin Donuts.

★★★★My wife, myself, and my son were on a late summer biking trip. We wanted to camp near Oneonta, but it had rained all day and didn't look like it would stop anytime soon. I had done some research on Trip Advisor, but found either overpriced rooms ($210 per night) or cheaper rooms with mediocre-very bad reviews. Our waitress told us that we should try the Celtic Motel. We requested one of the cottages and were very happy with our choice. For $76 including tax, the cabin included two bedrooms and a living room, a huge refrigerator, and a stove. We were able to cook in our room, which definitely saved us a lot of money. The room is definitely old, but it was fine for us. I felt very at home in our little cottage. The cottage was also quiet at night and we did not hear ant road noise. I would definitely stay in this motel again!

NillThe property manager and her family are very kind and helpful. Very quiet and safe place to stay. Alot of beautiful and peaceful places to sit outside. Lots of birds, squirrels and rabbits to enjoy. Highly recommend! I would definitely go and stay here again.

★★After a very long day of driving from Lancaster, Pa (which included back tracking) we asked siri for a close hotel. This was what came up. Advice....if you have to stay in the Motel row....keep going. $65 per night...and overcharged!!! The room smelled horrible was extremely old and worn. The pictures of the cabins look kind of cute, but they are not what we stayed in. Did have a coffee pot and a really small frig, that doubled as a night stand. The TV was at least 20 years old and would not come in, it wanted to...but alas was ghosty and static. Not even suitable for white noise. Sorry, owners....you either need to spend some effort on these or lower the price alot and warn people that they smell and are very worn. At least give the option of moving on to a different location. The front lobby of the motel also reeked of nicotine, and I don't think the windows had ever been washed. Should have been my first clue to move on down the road.

★This place was by far the most disgusting place I have ever paid to stay in. The first thing that hits you is the odor of the room when u open the door, second, all the spiderwebs on the ceiling, the rug didn't look like it was vacuumed, the counter tops, small fridge, toaster oven and microwave were filthy, I had to wash off everything off with Clorox wipes before using (note: NOT MY JOB AS A PAYING CUSTOMER). the bedding was also NOT CLEAN! Checked the bathroom that also wasn't cleaned, hair on the floor, trash in the trash can, nasty hair and mold in the tub. So yea the state of the room was atrocious to say the least. Only good thing I have to say is, the place was very quiet, that was all I liked, the silence of it all. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THE CELTIC MOTEL AGAIN. NOTHING IN THAT ROOM WAS SANITARY. NASTY!!! As a paying customer I believe that the room should at least be cleaned before ANYONE is allowed to sleep in it!!!
