NillDidn’t stay at the resort but did a day pass and it was lovely! I booked the wrong date initially and the staff were super accommodating. I did a stretch class, meditation class, and a deep tissue massage. The massage was incredible and the classes were so grounding and relaxing. Rosalina was a great masseuse and it felt transformational. As someone who has been to many spas, this one definitely is not the most luxe, but definitely worth a visit. Would recommend and return in the future!

NillCivana turned out to be everything I never knew I needed. As a solo traveler, I felt seen, safe, and supported throughout my stay. The wellness classes, workshops, and spa were the main reasons I chose Civana, and they exceeded my expectations. The resort itself, along with its breathtaking views, was truly incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed the menu items at both on-property restaurants, and every employee I encountered was absolutely delightful. The resort shuttle to the airport was also a great experience—my driver was punctual, professional, and friendly. While the guest rooms could use some updates, I appreciated their minimalist design and loved the bathroom products provided. Additionally, I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful fellow guests, which made my stay even more special. I can’t wait to return!

NillThere’s a reason it was voted best wellness resort in America. Great service and amenities. Truly a relaxing get away. My only caveat was the food wasn’t the best….. in my opinion. I’ll give that a 5/10. Some meals are delicious and others are a hit-and-miss. But still a lot of healthy choices.

NillI’m not sure why they have such young kids working the front desk. I just ended my stay last week, and was underwhelmed overall by this resort. My flight got in late and the only person working the desk was a young girl, who ended up putting me in the WRONG ROOM! I walked in on a couple and felt so embarrassed. No compensation for this either. I wish they didn’t focus so much on “happiness” here in the classes. Well-being is more than happiness. They are a bit too “woo-woo” for my taste. And way too expensive for most things here even though they promote this resort as “accessible”. I would go somewhere else and not recommend this resort.

NillUnforgettable reset vacation that I hope to make an annual trip! Every single instructor, server, staff member was kind and welcoming. This was my first solo trip and it did not disappoint. Civana is a wonderful, safe space to come to relax and recharge. If you're on the fence, just book it! You won't regret it. I'm already trying to find a time to come back!

NillHad a wonderful stay here. The room needed a little tlc. It was very clean and comfortable but the door was very hard to open and close, it didn’t latch properly. And many of the usb charging hubs were broken, busted or plain didn’t work. The spa was amazing. The property is beautiful. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would like to come back again in the future.

NillI led a yoga retreat here and while the setting in the desert with the views & sunsets is stunning, I was extremely disappointed on many levels. First, from the time I booked the reservation to arrival, I was in contact with 6 different people at Civana to help plan the retreat. Upon arrival, not one person showed up to greet us, show us around, help us get settled in or even show us where the yoga studio was for my first class that started in 1 hour after arrival. The next day a staff member sent me a text and apologized. Apparently the special events manager resigned 2 days prior. This person responded to my texts going forward but didn’t even come introduce himself. Again…appalling. The rooms are large but the rooms, hallways and frankly the majority of the hotel felt like we were in a hospital or dorm. Stale is an understatement. No character or attention to detail whatsoever. There are 3 fitness/yoga studios. The one we had the majority of classes in was pretty bad. Felt like a small convention room. The smallest yoga studio was cozy and felt more like a yoga studio. The best part of the hotel is the Spa. I would say it’s 1 notch up compared to the rest of the hotel in terms of ambiance but still lacks a warm, upscale environment. What they failed to tell us was you cannot not use spa or spa amenities unless you had a spa appointment, so we ended up sneaking in to use the hot tub, pool and steam room if we didn’t have an appointment that day. I asked numerous times for passes to use the spa and they said no because it was full both days. The spa treatments are expensive but amazing. The service was poor and the staff seemed untrained. There was little communication between them in terms of what was included in our contract, our itinerary, pricing, etc. They were clueless. There are many classes offered daily but most are an extra charge and some were full so we had to be put on a waitlist. The classes should be included in the price especially for what they’re charging! They didn’t prepare us for this and advise us to sign up for classes before we arrived to make sure there was availability. By the way, they charge $15 penalty if you sign up and do not come to a class. The food is average. Service was slow. And we felt like we were being nickeled and dimed from beginning to end. For example, we ordered bread and they tried to charge extra for it. On that subject, there were no complimentary snacks in between except for in the spa. There is the Seed Cafe that offers good smoothies, salads and some small snacks like hummus and veggies but it is not complimentary. I was so looking forward to this retreat (7 of us) and thank goodness we had a phenomenal group of women. I have hosted 15-20 retreats in my career. Of all the places I have been this was one of the biggest disappointments. I would not recommend this place AT ALL for a retreat or even an overnight stay. Perhaps a day pass.

★★★★★Every time I visit CIVANA, I leave feeling so good, so healed, and so grounded. This place never ceases to amaze me. I was fortunate enough to spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve here this year, and it was the perfect way to start the new year on the right path.||One experience, in particular, stood out to me and truly changed my life: Guided by the Herd, an equine experience offered at CIVANA. During this experience, we connected with horses in a way that was deeply healing and grounding. We learned to observe their behaviors, understand their energy, and build trust with these incredible animals. Horses, with their gentle strength and profound sensitivity, mirror our emotions and teach us how to stay present and open-hearted. It was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking healing, grounding, or simply the joy of spending time with these wonderful beings.||As always, the resort was pristine, with noticeable improvements since my last visit. The service was impeccable, the class programming was fantastic, and I especially loved closing out the year with a sound bath at 11 p.m., setting the tone for a new year full of positive energy.||I highly suggest CIVANA to anyone looking for a transformative travel experience. It’s perfect for solo travelers—especially women, as it feels incredibly safe—but also ideal for families, couples, or friends. It’s a place where you can truly discover yourself while feeling completely at ease.||CIVANA is more than a resort; it’s a sanctuary for growth, healing, and connection. I can’t recommend it enough.
