This is our third time staying here. And we did the deluxe cabin and it was awesome. It was like being at home in comfort with all the amenities. But you have a great view of the Tonto creek and the pine tree’s. There was a nice deck outside with some nice chairs. Just a little too cold to sit out there to enjoy the view. We got snow for two days so that was different but very fun for our grandkids.

Wonderful location & amazingly beautiful. We love the rustic feel of the place, with all the amenities. I had called to see if there was anything special that could be done for my wife’s birthday and the staff really came through on such short notice. They made us feel very welcomed and genuinely want you to be happy. So glad we came and will likely try to meet some family here in the future as well - there is a lot to do on site, and fantastic views w/short day trips to view elk, other wildlife, and this beautiful area.

I really enjoyed my stay. The Lodge is very clean and staff are friendly and welcoming. I had a room overlooking the creek. It was nice to open the door and hear the water. It also had a huge soaker tub that was heavenly. I had a hamburger for dinner at Zane Grey and it was really good. The next morning I thought I'd go ahead and stay for breakfast and it was disappointing. The quality of the coffee was bleh. 😝 which for a lodge it would be great to have a premium coffee. I won't go into detail about the breakfast. It was poor quality compared to dinner. I ended up sending it back and asked them to take care of the check

The location is very peaceful and kid friendly. There's a small creek nearby that you and/or your family can enjoy (or go for a walk). Beds are comfy, and the room we had comes with a small fridge and microwave. Great customer service! They also have their own little restaurant with great food.

This place is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant, lounge, heated pool, hot tub, cabins and rooms in the lodge, upstairs area with a sitting area with TV , deck and view , downstairs a sitting area with fireplace, games to play. They had plenty of water filling stations with both hot and cold water for tea, coffee, etc. The rooms have patios with chairs, kitchenette and fireplaces. It is out in the country so you won't find nearby grocery store, so be prepared to bring your snacks and food that can prepare in your kitchenette that has a full-size fridge. The staff is extremely friendly. They were happy to answer our questions and offered us extra ice when we left. A very good experience. The only downside is check-out was a bit early at 10 AM. I imagine it might be earlier than normal because extra work is involved in cleaning the rooms as they have kitchenettes that also need to be cleaned.

Nice location in the woods but advertised restaurant on-site is not always open for all meals. When I booked it was not easily apparent that restaurant and bar are totally closed Mondays and Tuesdays and not serving breakfast until weekend. I booked for a Tuesday nite. Minimal dining options within a 5 min drive. Most options were 20 minute or more drive to Payson. Nothing within walking distance. No grocery stores nearby. Bring your own food. At least our room had a large microwave and small 2 burner stove top plus refrigerator, although I did not find out restaurant would be closed until after it was booked (non refundable) and we were in transit.|Mattress topper must be worn out, bed was too rock hard for a side sleeper. |Desk staff don't seem to like the booking sites (expedia, booking.com |etc.) Kept talking about their direct booking. They also said the restaurant although physically on site is run by another entity out of their control. |Be prepared for the $200 deposit, and $20 resort fee even for a one night stay.

Quiet jem in Arizona. Went to the resort in the winter (February). Found the staff and local people of Kohl's Ranch very outgoing and very pleasant to meet. I recommend if you like the outdoors, hiking, and stream fishing do you research before you go. The resort does not have concierge service. Very clean with a variety of cabins or rooms.

Seriously beautiful location. Check in was easy. Rooms are rustic, and fairly updated. Property is well kept and nice to wander around. Food in the restaurant was good as was the service. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the room. All surfaces were very dusty. The floors were discussing, we had sticky shiny footprints "like someone stepped in a spilled drink" by the nightstand and there was random leaves-food crumbs-dust in the corners and behind items. The fireplace in the room are fake LED logs and the rotating lights behind the fake logs sqeeked every 3 seconds. So we had to keep it off.
