Fletchy’s Pictured Rocks Resort

By no means a luxury room, but clean, warm and comfortable. But the best part is the owner, a genuinely great guy that aims to please, cares about customers and feels like an instant old friend. We'll be back. We were there to snowmobile. Plenty of parking for vehicles with trailers, attached cafe was good and convenient. 100% would recommend as a home base for any excursions in the area.

Our adventure to Fletchy's Pictured Rocks Resort in Michigan's Upper Peninsula was wonderful. We received personalized, 5-star attention and service. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the spacious great room with the fireplace, comfortable couches and chairs, big-screen TV, Games, puzzles, free coffee, and popcorn. There is an on-site delicious restaurant and gift shop. To be right on Lake Superior was amazing.

We have stayed at Fletchy’s two weekends in a row now. The rooms are amazingly clean and remodeled. There is tons of parking for snowmobile trailers and the trail is very easily accessible. The attached restaurant serves all homemade food which includes the best pastries I’ve ever seen. The pulled pork and smoked brisket is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The owner is extremely personable and the employees are the friendliest people. Highly recommend checking Fletchy’s out!

Traveled to Grand Marais to enjoy the UP 200 Dog Sled Race. Fletchy's was close to town & the turn around point for the teams. Great location, quiet, close to beach where in warmer weather it would be perfect for rock hunting, watching sunrise or set, night sky watching, & especially to view the Northern Lights if out. The room was clean, warm & comfy with a TV. Captains Quarters was spacious with coffee, books, games, TV or just to relax . Location is near several popular spots that are great day trips including Sable Falls just west of town. The café & gift shop on site were perfect. I enjoyed talking with both owners & the staff who were happy to help you & anwers questions. Large parking area if bringing trailers with snowmobiles or 4wheelers. I will go back if in the area.

Clean, comfy, plenty of space. Great location for taking day trips. Staff was super helpful and friendly. The only thing missing was a grill or two (I'd have been using it for sure, and now I know to bring my own). The Captain's Quarters was a fun room for TV watching or playing games, but it did need one more light

I love Grand Murray but I would never stay here again…not what was advertised at all…i was here over the summer and every interaction I had with the owner was a nightmare. He was rude during check in but I thought he was having a bad day until I overheard him in the hallway yelling at his employees until they were in tears. This was a few days later. I tried the food at his smokehouse that he insisted was amazing and it was the driest, blandest, most overpriced food I’ve ever had. The rooms were not renovated, they were extremely outdated and falsely advertised. I usually don’t leave bad reviews and am very understanding but I can’t overlook how rude and disrespectful the owner was to his employees and how misled i felt with all the things that were advertised. Grand Murray is a beautiful small town that I visit every summer but this place was not worth the money. edit: and now the owner is responding to my review saying I’ve obviously never stayed here because I spelt Grand Marias wrong…he is rude and unprofessional and proving my point.

I can't provide a rating for a room at Fletchy's Pictured Rocks Resort because we didn't get to stay there. My partner made our reservations online. When we showed up on Sunday, September 1, we didn't have a room. The staff person on duty showed us that the reservation was made for August 27, checking out on August 28. We weren't even on vacation those dates! My partner is certain he made the reservation for September 1. He didn't notice the dates on the receipt at the time of booking but suspects it was a glitch on the booking website. We were told this has happened before and the new owner would not make accommodations for such errors and we would have to pay again for a room that night ($200+). The kitchen staff had all just left for town to eat so the restaurant was closed for the season and we would have to find food on our own on a holiday. We decided to move on to Marquette and stay at a chain hotel.

Great people! Great food! Head toward the lighthouse in Grand Marais, they are on the left. Well worth the trip. Ice cream and baked goods look amazing too!
