Elk Lake Resort and Marina

The resort has overnight visitors use a public lot where overnight parking is not allowed, preventing plows from clearing snow. When plows can’t clear the snow no one else can park there. This lot is critical for others to access the backcountry, and many can’t access it because of Elk Lodge and how they operate.

During winter, small restaurant to eat as break stop while snowmobile. Very pretty surroundings in the winter. Never been here during any other time to compare.

No regard for their community. They have guests park in sno park parking lots at overflow, without consideration for users of the sno park. This effectively blocks access to the sno park by taking up all the spots, as well as preventing plowing to occur in these lots. This leading to cars of guests getting stuck and the lot being blocked entirely. All while they make no effort to leave space for the community around them.

We stopped at Elk Lake Marina and Resort Campground on Friday. The lake is beautiful they have dry camping spots available and day use. They rent paddle boards and kayaks. They have plenty of space to sit along side the lake and play in the water. We ate at the cafe expecting mediocre service and food. Boy were we surprised. The service was incredible, Seth was friendly, fast and attentive. The food was fantastic and we were served fast and checked on several times. The view was so nice and we will definitely be back here to spend the day and enjoy a great lunch.

Winter operations of this resort cause lack of safe access to outdoor recreation users at Dutchman Snow Park. This goes on for months during the every winter in Central Oregon and they couldn't care less.

We had a wonderful stay. The lake, mountain views (Bachelor, Broken Top, South Sister), and trees are gorgeous. Customer service was fantastic with a special call out to Brandy the bartender and Seth our server. We had a small kerfuffle with our reservation and the owner, Wendy, worked with and did right by us. Thank you and we look forward to coming back again. Especially for the delicious noms and solid beer selection 😋

If you find yourself hiking the PCT , wet, tired, sore feet and hungry , this is an oasis with an angel named MICHELE ( one L) at the front desk. Rob manning the restaurant/bar was so friendly and attentive we did not want to leave. Burgers, wings and beer (great selection ) were all good and so appreciated during our break from the trail. Hot showers, comfy beds and surprisingly well appointed kitchen made our brief stay so relaxing. what more could you want
