Several violations in the cabin I stayed at. No smoke detector. Fire extinguisher without an expiration date. They do not regularly wash their blankets and kitchen towels between guests. They do not supply the beds with bedsheets. Mold on walls and ceiling.

Friends and I have stayed here several times both during warm weather months and during winter. Cabins are older and not "5 star" fancy, but that is not what we are looking for here anyway. They have everything you need for a clean comfortable stay in the north woods. Plum lake is great for all water recreation needs, and the private boat launch and docks available with the cabin rental are a very nice feature. The location is perfect with everything in Sayner a short walk or bike ride away. Meadow is a great host, very accommodating and helpful. Will be back again for sure.

My husband and I stayed in cabin 4 over memorial day weekend. It's a comfortable cozy little cabin with a beautiful view of the north woods out the picture window. We had deer visit the woods every morning and evening. The evenings were chill but when we arrived Meadow the owner had a warm fire going. I loved our visit. Sayner is a tiny little community with a big wonderful personality.

Did a spur of the moment weekend stay in Cabin 1. Heavily wooded property on hillside above Plum Lake (1600 acre fishing lake) with 6 cottages, one directly on water. Very close to Sayner with small shops and pub, property feels private and secluded. |||| Traditional Northwoods rustic cottage with all the conveniences, fully equipped kitchen, bath with shower, one bedroom with comfy full bed (few Northwoods cottages have queen or king beds), small living room with cable TV, futon and easy chair. ||||Weber grills for each unit, central firepit, new permanent dock and boat ramp onto lake, all on property. Heat is pellet stove. Very quiet and cottages are well spaced. Free rowboat, canoe and kayak, and small playground for guest use. Towels and sheets provided, you must bring all consumables.

We (brother, friend and myself) drove up from Chicago to the Northwoods in early June for a few days for fishing. Meadow, the owner was very accommodating and friendly and made us feel at home away from home. The cabins were rustic and very comfortable, and the resort grounds and scenic surroundings brings out the best the Northwoods can offer. We were provided a boat and had free use of the kayaks and canoes available at the resort. The other guests were super friendly and from what I understand have been returning to this resort year after year. The weather however wasn't really cooperating with us in regards to the fishing but we have no regrets staying at Plum Gate Resort, and while we did not catch too many fish, we did enjoy the beauty of Sayner and the Northwoods.||||GK

Truly an amazing place. My family and I stayed here multiple summers in August and July. We absolutely loved the boat docks and boat house to swim, boat, and fish. We caught a a lot of Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky, Blue Gill, Rock Bass, and Perch. Plum Lake had excellent water skiing conditions until noon, and then excellent sailing conditions in the afternoon. Paul and Meadow are wonderful people and they always gave us great recommendations for places to eat. They also hosted an excellent BBQ for all of us. Their land has plenty of space for the kids to play capture the flag and kick the can. We saw lots of wildlife life. It was the perfect North Woods Family Vacation.

Our family (a total group of 20 people) rented 3 of the 6 available cabins and had a wonderful time. Plum Lake is beautiful. The cabins were all lovely with a rustic feel that offered functional accomodations with access to the beautiful north woods area and lake. Sayner, WI is a wonderful little town. The resort is within walking distance to a local playground and tennis courts. Access to a fantastic network of bike trails was a great plus. Sandy beach area on the lake was great for the kids. Resort offered a paddle boat and paddle surf board for guest use at no additional cost. Water ski show was visible from the resort lakefront. Resort also offered a raft in the lake which got lots of use when swimming. Owners, specfically Meadow, were extremely nice and made us all feel more than welcome. Owners also have 2 springer spaniels that run free at the resort which added to our experience. The dogs were SUPER FRIENDLY and the kids just LOVED them. We've already made our reservations for next year. A great experience, thanks again Meadow!

Another great mini vacation in Sayner! We stayed at Plum Gate Resort and have done so previously. We are a family of 6 and love staying here as Meadow and Paul are so accommodating. What great people....so friendly! How could you not get along with them as they really take pride in their resort and want you to be happy. Although this place may not be for everyone, it is PERFECT for our family! We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quaint and quiet resort on a beautiful lake with friendly resort owners! Thanks again Meadow and Paul!
