The Dog on the Hill

I recently stayed at “the dog on the hill” that exceeded all my expectations. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Their friendly dogs were a delightful bonus, adding to the homely atmosphere with their playful and affectionate nature. The view from the homestay was nothing short of breathtaking. Waking up to stunning landscapes was a highlight of my stay. The environment was serene and picturesque, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the best parts of my experience was the opportunity to make new friends .I met some truly wonderful people during my stay. The combination of a great host, friendly dogs, beautiful views, and new friendships made this homestay an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

We decided to choose a stay away from the hustle and bustle of Manali, and I must say ‘THE DOG ON THE HILL’ was the perfect choice! It is situated in Naggar, a beautiful town with wonderful cafes and museums. We were a group of 9 people who wanted a peaceful and homely stay amidst nature. We reached there in the afternoon and were welcomed by the host Utsav along with his 4 wonderful pet dogs! The stay is equipped with cozy rooms having beautiful views of the snow capped mountains. The common room is also very cozy and has great aesthetics. We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner cooked by Dinesh. Very very thankful to Utsav for guiding us about the good places to visit around! And the highlight of the stay was definitely the wonderful time we had while playing ‘sequence’:) Overall it was an amazing experience staying here. Would love to visit again!

Had a great stay at Dog On The Hill. The host Utsav is really friendly and helpful. There are 4 wonderful, gentle dogs on the property so it’s perfect for dog lovers. Great views all round, clean simple rooms and a cosy common room. A very homely vibe overall. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I came here for the first time with my friends and we had a wonderful experience. You can see those snow capped mountains from your room. That's some great view to wake up to. It was quiet & peaceful. Rooms were super clean and so were the bathrooms. DOG ON THE HILL is great place to stay with some lovely walks nearby. Owners are very chilled out , friendly & offering to help with anything you may need. Do try their scrambled eggs and pan cakes, i highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at The Dog on the hill. Utsav was an amazing host and made sure that our stay was really comfortable. We traveled with our pet dog and the hosts were extremely supportive. Place is in a serene location and you can really enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the nature. An amazing place to just chill and relax. Give this place a go if you are ever in Naggar. Highly recommended!!

This homestay was sooo cozy! Rango and Tuco the doggos were absolute sweethearts. And the room and bathroom are VERY clean!! Utsav the owner did everything himself - what a hardworking, friendly guy! I'd love to visit again.

Best place to stay in the area. Beautiful, quiet location and within walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Utsav is a great host and makes you feel right at home. His knowledge will enable you to get the very best out of the area and there are plenty of fantastic walks to do directly from the guest house. The Dog on the Hill will be my go-to for future visits to the area. Keep up the good work!

This being my first trip to Manali with a friend, I was hoping to find a safe haven in the hill for us girls and we were so lucky to have found Meha and Utsav's beautiful home. ||I would highly recommend their homestay for folks looking to get away from their busy city lives and reconnect with nature. This property is surrounded by Lush apple orchards and have a great view of the snow caped mountains. ||Waking up to a yummy breakfast prepared by Lucky we would have each morning on the terrace with a 360 degree view of the mountains. Utsav would take us each day to trek at different places, explore a different part of Manali, which was really awesome! ||Meha and Utsav made our stay and experience so wonderful.. from the yummy aloo puri and mutton stew to bonfires under the starry sky.. to hot showers and heaters .. to the sunday picnic by the river.. meeting their wonderful friends Jonas and Jess.. the most adorable part of the trip were their adorable pets Tuco, Rango and little Akbar since they have a pet friendly property. ||The 4 days passed by so quickly that we felt bad leaving on the last day.. Its a home away from home .. with warmth peace and tranquility.. making it such a memorable stay. I would like to thank Meha and Utsav for making this trip and experience so wonderful and being amazing hosts and the warm hearted people I have met! Definitely making this a yearly annual visit!
