The Xanadu Meghadhootam

Xanadu was a lot of peace and good views for us. The location and the ambience was perfect for our vacation. We were contacted from the property 2 days before to ensure our check-in time and detailing regarding the road works happening at their property, which was very helpful For us the place was worth for the money. Breakfast was good. Cons. -we were not prepared to kne that the room we were staying had a kitchen from where the staffs cook for everybody over there including the customers in their adjacent property. Because it wasnt mentioned anywhere about that. But the staff did give us privacy on "demand". I think they shud have let us kne about this after checking in or before so that we could have been prepared to see strangers in the kitchen all of a sudden -Service could have been better specifically saying this because the attitude of the staff was different when we checked in and when we checked out. -The heater was not sufficient for the room at all.

Pros 1. Awesome location high up above kodai in a bungalow setting 2. Food was homemade and excellent. Great for family with kids. 3. Rooms were clean and had good amenities. 4. Staff, Tilak and team were very courteous, helpful and took care of all our needs during the stay. 5. There is also a small play area for kids with tt and games. 6. Lots of in bred dogs who are very playful. If your kids like dogs then they will enjoy it even more. Improvements 1. Maybe a fan in bedrooms during unconventional hot summers maybe needed. 2. The road to bungalow needs to be wetted regularly, else it's very slippery to get up in a car. 3. If some renters are not dog friendly, they may have an issue as the dogs do roam around freely.

Amazing location and fantastic service. Rooms are well equipped with all services and a best blend of homestay and personalised services. Approaching road is narrow but worth once you reach at the top. Very helpful staff and also helped us with local guide. A hidden gem on top of the hill. They have three friendly and very well behaved dogs, who would give you company as they wish. Staff can converse in English, Hindi and Tamil. Food is very simple, homely and well prepared. Don’t expect lot of variety as this is homestay but chef can cook both South Indian and north Indian variety very well. Must try masla tea and South Indian breakfast. Internet is unstable and you only get bsnl mobile network and jio sometimes. We worked from this location for few days and the environment and location was apt. Must take services of local guide Surya. He took us to some amazing trails and also made some really professional videos.

The location, the view, the service and the hospitality was undoubtedly very nice. Everyone ensured that our stay was comfortable and pleasurable. However, there are few aspects which could be improved. The room heater provided is way too small to heat the room.. Someone sitting right in front will get the heating, rest of the room remains cold. The hot water tap in the wash basin didn't work. We had kept a bucket of hot water next to the wash basin. Otherwise, the stay was immensely relaxing and pleasurable.

Beautiful place beautiful location. Aparna is an amazing host and has one of the best properties in Kodaikanal and connor. I've been to both and both have been amazing. Little far off on top, not near the kodai lake, so travelling down to the lake is a little bit difficult if you don't have your own vehicle. The view is amazing and worth going to once if you want to go for the weekend and just relax. This air bnb is best for couples and even family. Home made food is provided by the in-house caretaker. They take care of your needs especially if you're Jain.

A perfect holiday of Christmas and my daughter's birthday in Kodaikanal with Xanadu. Rooms are so specious and with amazing mountain view. Staff there are so friendly and service you promptly with smile always on their face. Food is amazing, served hot. One of my best holidays.

The stay was very comfortable. Hospitatlity by the Resort Staff was consistently peaking through out our stay. My septuagenarian Mother, my children and I had an amazing and heavenly experience. Food served were homely and the location of the property is abode of the nature. Memories of our stay is etched within us. Thank you Team Xanadu for providing this lovely experience.

We stayed at the Birkenhead for 2 days and had an enjoyable experience.. the rooms were neat and the food was good. As we were traveling with 2 small kids,the option of having home cooked food and a spacious place was a big plus. The staff were courteous and welcoming ,they also arranged for a bonfire and outdoor barbecue, which was fun and reasonably priced. It is to be noted that the property is 4 kms away from the lake and is a tedious drive during crowded times, and out of the two rooms ,only one has a separate lock and key..the other room has a key that's shared with the kitchen.Separate keys should be provided for each room to ensure safety and privacy. Overall an offbeat and enjoyable experience!
