Kailwood Guest House

very disappointing. thats not the hospitality i was looking for. its a nice building with a stunning view. staff was superficial nice.. i booked the budget room. the room we got didn't match with the pictures at all. it was a former kitchen and still had the kitchen furnitures inside. the window was covered. it was dim and u couldn't open the window. the mattress was just a thin layer, maybe 5-7 cm thick. very uncomfortable. there are constructions going on and they started eveey morning at 7 am (no idea why constructions in a hotel have to start at 7 am if u have guests..) after two nights the manager asked if everything is alright and i said the room doesn't match the pictures. he transferred us in the lower part of the building and the room was mich better. the lower part of the building has some couches and tables infront of the rooms and an open kitchen as well. when we came back in the afternoon after a hike through heavy monsoon rain, completely wet and cold, i wanted to use the kettle in the kitchen to boil some hot water for tea and sit down at the table to est. i was told we arent allowed to use anything from the kitchen and also not to use the couches or tables. that space was reserved for three old indian men who sat there the whole afternoon and night to drink whisky and eat. they gave us a kettle later which we couldn't use in the room cos there was no space to put the kettle and plug in the cable. next.morning around 10 am when we got out of our room the area was still smelling of food and alcohol cos no one cleaned. and that night at 11 pm one of the Indian men started cooking for two hours being super noisy, so we couldn't sleep. this is a hotel and not a family homestay so no idea why we weren't allowed to use to facilities of the community area but others were. very unpleasant

To reach the guest house, you need to take 30 steps. It could be steep for someone that is not acclimatized for hilly regions

I had a wonderful experience staying at this guesthouse. I kept extending my stay day after day. The location is within walking distance of everything and the entire guesthouse is very clean and comfortable for a long or short stay. Surinder and his staff are the best hosts and willing to help with any of your needs. Clean towels and sheets are a big plus! I would recommend it to everyone.

Kailwood guest house was a perfect choice! The rooms are really clean, the bed leanings too and the rooms are really spacious. The location is perfect..you are in the center but in the meantime you are in the nature. Nearby there’s a really nice cafe (the common grounds cafe). Highly recommend!

Nice hotel.. nice tea.. humne glass bhi toda tea wala.. wooden hotel.. middle of the city.. good atmosphere.. I highly recommend this hotel.

Marvelous. Starting from the booking to the checkout the services are amazing. Thanks to Surinder for the tremendous service. The guesthouse is exactly the same how there website describe. The rooms are big and neat bathroom is clean and the views are amazing. They have a small library from where you can borrow books for reading. You can get food from their kitchen if you wish. Also they can arrange cabs for local transfer without any issues.

Had an amazing experience with these guys. The location is great, super close to the main square, but still nice and silent. Rooms are large and tidy, and for a good price. But what sets it apart is the hospitality; they stored my motorbike for the week for a very minor fee, they lend me a towel for a week because I had lost my own, they re-printed my visa when I lost it, and when I wouldn dare drive my rented bike down the steep road because of the rain they showed me a better route and the owner drove me down the first part. All in all I would highly recommend staying here!
