Venice Nest

Paid 200 rupees for a room with a common bathroom. The place is nice and clean, with two common living areas and a kitchen. My room had a high ceiling, good fan, and screened windows, the winning combination for great air circulation without mosquitoes (very important in Kerala in late March). The staff are friendly and very laid back and are happy to sit and chill out with you. They organize backwater tours as well. I took a shared canoe trip and it was quite lovely. Long story short it's a great budget place with no hassle and i'd recommend it to any budget traveler.

We checked into here after advice from the Browns guesthouse just around the corner (we were after so,ending cheaper) as they are run by the same people. ||||First impressions were good the place was clean and tidy, you have access to the living room and communal balcony and kitchen which is a great addition in India. We were actually the only people staying at the time so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! ||||From the word off the staff were very helpful and gave us great advice about boat tours for different budgets and a very handy map of the area, most places are within walking distance or a cheap tuc tuc away. ||||We would stay again, for those with a slightly higher budget we would also suggest the Browns Residence guest house just around the corner for more luxury.

This guest house is just a house rented by room by room. No soap no towel no white bed sheets and bad toilet. The atmosphere is not good for families and couples. You will get better room in Township with a small difference of money. Its 1.9 km far from bus stand, many rooms available in township itself. So please avoid.

The room actually was above average. Especially with the price. The thing is, we couldn't enjoy it at first as "some guy was sick and kept the room" so we had to go to another guesthouse (more expensive but we didn't pay the overcharge obviously) without wifi but where we could cook our own dinner in the small kitchen (if needed) and enjoy a relax time close to the canal. Back to Venice, none seems to there during the day except to ask you to pay on the last day... typical. Still a nice room!

Found this hotel from Tripadvisor and had a great time with the host people also. Very friendly atmosphere with extra activities. Comfortable stay on affordable rate is the speciality about this one. Walkable distance to Alleppey Beach, Light House and also two Beverage Outlets.

Such a nice place to stay. It is actually a homestay. Cleanliness is awesome. The room was very spacious, staffs were so cooperative. If we need to cook food by ourself, they wil allow to use there kitchens, dishes, stove &gas. Also inside room is mosquito free (but outside building may be horrible). Negatives :- won't even provide drinking water. No hotels/restaurants nearby (under 700m).

We were moved to that place although we had booked another lodge, this without warning.|The place is ok, nothing special. It's indeed a house with some rented rooms. But it's not a real homestay.|It's not centrally located.|I wouldn't stay in Allepey anymore anyway.|Better to go to Marari beach or straight to a homestay in the backwaters.

Spacious room which was very clean and comfortable, quiet street and good location t walk to town, although 30 minutes from beach.||Best staff, so friendly and helpful, could not have done more to help me. Very glad I stayed here. They also arranged a very good canoe tour of the backwaters for me, dropped me off and picked me up again
