El - Paradiso

We just spent 5 days here relaxing after our very busy south India tour. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. A big plus is the great shower with hot water. It is also in a good location, very close to Grandmas Cafe where we frequented for lunch, dinner or drinks, as well as Chrissies which was fantastic for breakfast in particular. The area is very quiet overnight so we slept well. We had a room on the 3rd floor which had 2 double beds. We also enjoyed sitting on the chairs outside the room. The owners and 2 cleaners are friendly, helpful and accommodating. There is a large open undercover room with clotheslines where you can hang your washing if you are happy to do it yourself, although there is an outside laundry option as well. If you are looking for somewhere budget friendly I highly recommend this homestay.

Stayed for 2 days. It is a family run business. The rooms meet European standards of cleanliness and the hotel seemed to be renovated recently. It is located ideally for nearby excursions to Periyar National Park and Tamil Nadu. The breakfast offered was very tasty and abundant. Hot water and universal electric plugs were also much appreciated. Lost a star from rooms because no shampoo was available but no big deal since convenient stores were nearby. Definitely deserving much more than 2 hotel-star rating

Pleasant stay in one of the best homestay of Thekkady. Rooms are newly built and clean. Nicely hosted by the owner is a plus.

we had 3 rooms it is a house-altered residency, but good for a just budget stay and look at attractions. each room has good balcany to get fresh air. Main town is just few minutes walk. The owners are friendly and ready to help but there is no dedicated room service staff or intercom have to call the owner to inquire about needs. No restaurant is attached, we have to do everything on our own.

Clean rooms were a plus, but the non-functional TV and the lack of ambiance made the stay disappointing. Considering the 2k price, I expected better amenities and a more welcoming atmosphere. Not worth the cost.

We had booked this place for a day, and would never make the mistake of booking a second time. Firstly , they made us wait for more than one hour before getting the room ready ready, even if then , we had to ask for bathroom towels. Secondly, they do not provide any room service, no food, not even a coffee maker. The internet connection is hopeless. Even if we overlook all of this, the worst experience is from the ‘ host’, he was terrible! They claim to be giving parking, but we were no able to park the vehicle in their parking area because the other drivers had to take their guest outside, we went to the owner for an alternative, he asked us to park the car on the road and that he would call once car inside the compound leaves. I had tried going thrice and got the same response. Since we had to start early next day, went to them again at 10:00 pm, he was very rude, he asked to park the car on the road, and said they provide the best facility here and on and on - to sum it up, I did not like the place because of the sheer lack of manners / basic know how of how on the part of the owner on how to treat a customer !! Terrible place, please do not go here, if you have another option!! And yes, it’s not a good option for families! Noisy and not very secure.

Clean large room with terrace and outside chairs. Good beds, nice hot shower. Quaint wood carved cupboards. Beautiful classic front veranda in carved wood. I did the morning walk and had to leave my room at 6.45 but as asked the owner himself brought me a freshly brewed local coffee to wake me up :-) |Afterwards my breakfast was kept and check out graciously extended...

That’s was the best stay in India lovely place and lovely people!! A lot of people says that is not hotel is a home stay , for me was much better than the hotel and very clean, breakfast was delicious!!! I really recommend this place to everyone 🥰
