Moksha Homestay

A cool building and concept: two elderly architects built the house specifically for homestay, offering six rooms (3 ac, 3 non-ac). We booked a so-called deluxe room as we wanted space and one of the nicer bathrooms. In our first room, the ac did only work for a minute before switching off. So we were moved to a smaller room with a less nice bathroom (but told it was still our category). While the first room would have been nice, we did not like the second. The front balcony, which was accessible from both rooms we saw, looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while (okay, there is no real point in using it ...). Overall, the building is very nice, modern, open, clean and welcoming. Given the proximity to the airport there was little noise from planes or even the busy streets around. ||||Both our hosts were present in the morning (at 7 a.m) to prepare and serve breakfast, which was an Indian pancake with Keralan egg curry. ||||Overall, it was a good stay, solid quality but not a wow experience on any level (as suggested by pictures or comments). We are not discouraging anyone from staying there – especially when you have to take an early plane. But we would advise you to feel a bit like in a flight transfer processing unit (which in our case was quite ok). ||||We were able to do some sightseeing from here and also got a few tipps from our landlady. All good.

My wife and I were traveling from Dubai to the Maldives and had a 12 hour layover in Trivandrum. I stumbled across Moksha Homestay on TripAdvisor while looking for a nice, inexpensive place to stay while waiting for our next flight.||||Location: Only about a 5 minute drive from the airport, located on a small quite street. Didn't get to see much of anything because we arrived late at night and had an early morning flight. ||||Service: The service that we received from the owners was great. They setup our transportation from and to the airport. It cost us maybe $8 USD total. We arrived around 11pm and the gentleman greeted us at the front door and was very nice. He was so nice and made sure we were very comfortable before heading back to bed. ||||Room: We opted to stay in the Deluxe queen room with AC. My wife and I are very tall and we needed a bed for us to fit in. I believe our room cost around $36 USD. The bed was a little hard, but the room did the job. There was a fairly big balcony that overlooked the street and I believe you share that balcony with a neighboring room. The bathroom was interesting. It was very clean, but what caught be off guard was how the shower is basically right above the sink and across the toilet so the toilet and sink get wet.||||Breakfast: Breakfast was included in the price and I will say that was the first time I had curry for breakfast. It was a bit spicy, but good. Another authentic food was provided, but I don't recall what it was.||||Wifi: Wifi was included in our price, and it worked just fine for us. We actually did a Facebook live for about 20 minutes and it work just fine for us.||||Overall: The service was great and the room was nice. If you are looking for a nice, clean place to stay, I would recommend staying here. With it being so close to the airport, I would highlight recommend staying here. The husband was so nice and really takes pride in his home he created.

The Hostle is in a perfect location for both the international and domestic airport. The best thing about the Hostle though are the hosts, they are a retired couple who run the bnb, providing a friendly warm welcome and a great breakfast. The house was designed by the host who is an architect and it shows, the house is beautifully kept and well designed with comfy rooms and clean bathrooms, a lovely sitting area downstairs and all in all just fantastic. My advice would be to contact the host before however for directions as it was a little hard t find Bt don't let this put you off, it is in a great location just down a side road. Would highly recommend to anyone.

It was really good place! Cozy and clean and near to airport (about 15 minuts by walk). A host was kind, friendly and helped with information:) also at morning was breakfast and you can say what you want, some indian food or something other :) it was pleasure to stay here

Very helpful host who gave allot of tips on what to see and how to get there. Rooms were very clean and comfortable!||Breakfast was a nice choice of Kerala food and European. At any time they were there to help!||We had a nice stay!

Mr & Mrs Rajamohanan really saved the day when they put me up at the last moment when my hotel booking was unexpectedly cancelled. In hindsight, I’m so glad it was. Moksha is clean and comfortable and the hosts are nothing but warm and welcoming. It was lovely to meet and spend time with the other guests too and Mrs Rajamohanan’s cooking is just wonderful. A perfect last minute deal that turned my day completely around.

if you are flying out from Trivandrum this is the place to stay. So close to the airport you could walk there but only if you could find a way across the airport road which you might not survive intact. But get a tuk-tuk to airport and it will be very quick. Charming retired couple, well educated and very polite, a pleasure to stay there. Breakfast was noodles and curry and red bananas. All vey clean and efficient, we immediately felt completely at home.

We stayed here for 2 nights after arriving in Trivandrum. It is a 20 minute tuktuk ride to the city centre. Tha accommodation is spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious. The couple who own the place are really friendly and helpful.
