Ganga Paying Guest House, Music School, and Soul Cafe Restaurant

Budget accomodation in a pleasant location by the Ganga. My room was small, but I wasn't paying for luxury and the open balcony made up for this. The family (owner) are very helpful and friendly. I met some lovely people here and found it convenient for visiting the Ghats and temples. It felt safe - I was travelling solo so this was important to me. It could be noisy at night hence the 4 stars, though I would definitely stay here again.

We are a couple and we stayed for over two weeks. It was very clean, with a perfect location near Assi Ghat and a great value. Our hosts treated us like family and we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again. We learned a lot about Indian culture, spirituality, and music. I studied Indian bamboo flute here and highly recommend the experience. There is a great view of the Ganges and the rooftop is a perfect place to meditate during sunset and sunrise :)

The Ganga is right in front of you. 100mts from Assi Ghat, from the rooftop you can see all the ghats, boats, people taking bath in the river. You can find a lot of restaurants cafes, stores and nice rooftops restaurants with beautiful view to the city, river and ghat. The rooms are comfortable, with private bathroom, ac and very clean. But beside all of that what make you really enjoy your say is the host M. Kailash and his family they are nice and helpful making you feel at home. If you are planning to visit Varanasi this is the place to be at. Thank you Mr. Kailash and your family to help me to live a wonderful moments in my first visit to this holy city 🙏🏻

Kailash is an amazing host. We stayed at his place for 5 nights, and we ended up talking every day. He gave us a lot of information about spirituality and hinduism. The rooms are small but clean. We are happy we chose to stay here. It was an authentic experience.

I have never seen someone care so little about their guests. This is a family business and the whole family is there but nobody is there for you. They make you feel unwelcome and the atmosphere is very awkward. The communication was awful. The place is dusty and the rooms are dirty, in a very unnecessary way. It shows no one cares about the place, it kind of feels as it is abandoned.

I feel very lucky that I got the recommendation to stay in "Ganga Paying Guesthouse" whilst in Varanasi. The hosting family was so lovely and treated me like their own son. Like the Hindi saying: "Sad Kutch Milega" - everything is possible! Besides the lovely atmosphere, this guesthouse is one of the oldest in Varanasi Assi Ghat and has a unique view onto the Ganga. Highly recommended and thanks for everything

This is an amazing place exactly a minute walk from Assi ghat... You will not get a better place at this price on this location. The ganga can be directly viewed from the rooms and it has a beautiful rooftop cafe. If you are not looking for luxury stay this place will offer everything else.||The host Mr. Kailash is an amazing person and a reputed musician. You will enjoy hearing him play tabla sometimes and his son playing flute.

If you are looking for cheap stay with a good location (near ganga ghat - ASSI GHAT), then this is a good place to stay. Kailash ji and family are very welcoming. You won't have any problem there.||||I am recommending to eat outside for authentic Banarsi cuisine (Basically cheap) or you can eat in their restorant but eating there is pricey, offcourse good quality food.||||Kailash ji is also a very good guide for touring in Varanasi. Feel free for his guidance for cheap touring like a local there like using sharing auto, etc.||||Very good view of Ganga from balcony there..
