Shiva Ganges View

Excellent hotel on banks of river Ganges. Staff are excellent and no question or request too big or small. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. There is a lovely roof terrace with views up and down the Ganges and the chef prepares excellent meals. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Varanasi.

Excellent location right next to the Ganges with a ghat just below the hotel and a really good yoga place 20m away. Food was delicious and great value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size with a little balcony looking out to the river. We spent a day being shown around Varanasi by Gagan - walking in the morning and then mainly via tuk tuk in the afternoon. Saw all the key spots with good cultural/ historical commentary. Very impressed.

Guest house very well located in Mansarovar Ghat, halfway between the 2 Aartis.|Pleasants and confortables rooms with good bedding.|Some rooms have Ganges View and the|Rooftop on 2 levels offer a permanent show ! |A wonderful Team : Attentive and lovely Team, every day : Excellent vegetarian Indian cuisine: we enjoyed each meals !|Guided excursions are offered from the hotel. Great Places to stay. Lovely and caring people, clean and very comfortable rooms. A beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the Ganges. All situated in a relatively quiet bit of Varanasi. Not to forget, the excellent food they serve......

I stayed at this old property converted into a guest house , and it had its pros and cons. *Pros: 1. The view of the Ganga from the room and terrace is breathtaking. The property is connected to a ghat with boating facilities, although these aren't available during high tides. 2. Some staff members provided commendable service. 3. The owner/manager is soft-spoken and approachable. *Cons: 1. Reaching the property requires a 7-8 minute walk down a narrow, dark lane with no vehicle access, which feels risky at night due to street dogs, horses, and intoxicated individuals. 2. The food is average for the price, with complimentary breakfasts at cheaper hotels often being better. 3. There’s no security guard, and the main door closes at 10:30 PM. If you return late, you might have to knock for 15 minutes to be let in, and the weird staff even questioned our lateness, which felt intrusive.(Its not a hostel and we are paying a bomb for each night!) 4. There’s no lift to the top floor, but this was clearly stated and didn’t bother me much. 5. The government agent affiliated with the property quoted sightseeing prices three times higher than what you’d find elsewhere, so we chose not to use his services. Overall, at a price point of 8,500 INR per night, I wouldn’t recommend this property unless you specifically want a river view. I've stayed at much better places for the same price, even outside India.

It is very plesent palce wonderfull people beautifull viev. The hotel offers good meels. You have to visit this place. We have had a trip with Ram threw the city it is good idea to take local guide. He is very kind and knows City well You have to take a part of the religious ceremony at the Ganges bank.

Clean rooms for Indian standards. Nice view in the top rooms. There is a big difference between some of the rooms, especially in the bathrooms, ranging from nice to uncomfortable. The service is quite nosy and the owner, often receiving guests in his room kneeling on the bed, is not pleasant to interact with. The restaurant is terrible and the cook seems that her would rather do anything else than take your order and prepare the food.
