Shanti guesthouse

Great people run this place. They are very kind, easy going, and accommodating. I highly recommend staying with them! I had a view of the mountain from my room and couldn't have asked for better. They also gave me a great rate since I came before the season started and were extremely open to me extending my stay repeatedly at that discounted rate. I never felt any pressure or tension which I often do from other Indian business owners. Here, they were just simply wonderful!

Found this small place with an amazing view. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but clean and tidy. The outdoor space is a beautiful place to sit and relax and look at the stars after a days shopping. This place has all the eminities like laundry, travels and rent a bike.

We were offered a room off the street for Shanti Guest house which, as foreigners of course, had our suspicions about. We were told the room had; English TV channels, free WiFi, private bathroom with hot water, and that it was very cheap. We could not have been any more surprised and pleased with the room. It was spacious, comfortable, clean (enough), had all the facilities promised, and was only 400rp a night twin share. Of course if you're expecting a 5 star luxury accommodation, this is not the place for you, however, for the budget traveller this guest house was amazing. Also to mention the staff are extremely nice and thoughtful. The manager accidently overbooked one night during our 17 day stay and gave us a temporary room at a cheaper rate and offered us free food at the adjoining Shanti Cafe which was delicious. Highly recommend for new visitors to Mcleodganj for a comfortable and quiet stay away from the noisy main square yet also perfectly placed for all major restaurants and attractions.

It's a decent place to stay for the price that it comes at... the off-season times are a bit upsetting because they don't have a lot of variety of food to choose from unless there are plenty of people asking for the same dish. Overall, they are quite laid-back and almost like enjoying a vacation themselves... don't expect city-like prompt behaviour from the staff there! :)

We stayed in Shanti Cafe for 3 nights this year in April. ||The place has all the basic amenities like 24 hours hot water, TV, room service etc.||It is descent and clean.||The owner of this place is very helpful and has a "yes" to all your requests. ||We even got a room for a few hours to keep our luggage while we roamed around the town on our last day in Mcleodganj.

I went to Mcleod Ganj this month and was planning to stay for a day or two but fortunately I found this very beautiful place with very affordable price so I extended my stay for 4 days. The best thing I found about this place was the Cafe attached next to my room which is very beautifully decorated and peaceful, You can smoke and order some amazing kashmiri dishes or drinks like Kahwa tea, Banana Pancake, Kashmiri Pulao. This guest house is located nearby the Macleod Ganj Main square so every other tourist places are at very short distance. People at the guest house are very nice and welcoming specially the Manager Mr. Javid !!! || If you go to Mcleod Ganj its a must visit cafe..

I really enjoyed my time here. My room was adorable, full of light and windows, perfect for one person, plus they have two larger rooms if needed. The owners made me chai and offered a free home made dinner. Stay here!!!

Literally a random blue building on the way to Upper Dharamkot. Such a beautiful beautiful view!!! I think most rooms here have a crazy view! There are rooms available from 500 bucks onwards. Perfect! Also, they have laundry service! And you can also make bookings for buses from the guest house itself, just enquire from Babu. They also have taxi service. Which is amazing. I personally prefer walking around in that area but taxis are available! Which is still pretty awesome! Near the guest house there is a short cut that takes you directly in the middle of Dharamkot market, so convenient! Loved this place!
