Frostel

This is our review about our stay at Frostel in Old Manali. We had originally planned to stay at the homestay for a total of 4 nights. However, we had to cut our stay short due to a lot of glaring issues with hygiene. As you can see from the pictures : the curtain rings were broken and not maintained, the floors were sticky and not cleaned, the bathroom was unpleasant and dirty, there was medicine still left presumably from a previous guest, there were flies everywhere, the pillow covers were stained, the pillows were also dirty and horrible. The staff seems absolutely careless about these things as when we asked for the pillow covers to be changed, they just handed "new" covers over to us. The climate was uncharacteristically humid (This was on 2nd July, 2024), so the room was stuffy due to the lack of ventilation. Any attempt at ventilation meant sacrificing one's privacy by opening the door as the windows hardly helped to get any fresh air. The difference in the humidity inside and outside the room was day and night. The rooms have no fans or AC as we were told by the host that the weather makes the rooms cool enough. However the weather was extremely humid, but the room was even more hot due to the lack of ventilation mentioned previously. We made a request to get a table fan. However, the staff simply told us that it wasn't possible. When we texted the host (Megha) about it, we didn't get a reply until we sent these pictures to her. The host added that it wasn't in the staff's capacity to help us with our request, but any attempt to help us was out of courtesy. Any attempt to reason with the host was only met with an apology. Anyway, this was a short but extremely disappointing experience that ruined the flow of our trip.

It was a amazing stay at Frostel . Megha(host) is very friendly & helping at times as well . She will help you in planning your stay if you are new to the place. View is really nice. Host must get 5 star’s😛. Thankyou Frostel backpackers for the amazing stay !!

Frostel is a perfect place for a stay in Old Manali. It’s very clean, comfortable and has everything you’ll need. The neighbourhood outside the hostel has a very good view of ice mountains and also it has access to all the Old Manali cafés and shops within walking distance. Megha and Suhana are an incredible host. They were nice, easy to talk and friendly. We had a good time during the stay. There’s no doubt to where I would stay if I ever come back here again :))

Our stay was so relaxing & peaceful. Didn't felt like to come back from there. Superb homely food prepared by Karthik. Megha & Suhana, hosts at Frostel were friendly and guided us to beautiful, offbeat places. Amazing ambiance & mesmerising natural beauty of mountains.

A host who made me feel at home. I am a solo traveller and always felt that I need to be always conscious about everything but the hosts at Frostel took care of everything, from my food choices to beautiful hikes! Thanks Frostel for introducing the unexplored hikes, food and landscapes. Looking forward to visit again. ❤️

This place is amazing. I am visiting homestay for second time and there is no better place in manali to stay than this. Megha is great host. Location is beautiful. This place is awesome if you are looking for chill out also if you are looking for workation as well.

Megha is such a helpful host that it is almost un-thinkable for someone to go out of the way to help. First day she just came out to show me around and even though she is not a party type girl, but would call around and find out from venue to time to food with most recent info. Another important feature about Frostel is that they have 24 hr hot water n mirrors (please do not waste electricity) her being a girl knows importance of these things, so most girls will feel comfortable at Frostel. 👍

Such a great experience. Coolest host, beautiful views, playing Activities and such a friendly environment, chilling vibes. 🌸 You can enjoy village view back to hostel also.
