Vatsalyam Home Stay

Vatsayalam homestay is a true home away from home. My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to read and work and couldn't have found a better option. It was exactly the way it was shown in the picture. Neat, clean, and cozy. If you want some peace from the city noises, this is a place to stay :). You can also see several beautiful birds while sipping your tea or coffee. The place is around 8 km from the Shimla main town, but it is easily accessible with taxis. There are also buses. The area is residential and safe. | Asheesh, the host, was very helpful and answered our requests very promptly. We also had great conversations with Asheesh and his father. They were very respectful of our space. We would definitely like to stay here again.

A gem, a place you selfishly wish to hug to yourself. Located away from the crowded mall facing a pine tree forest Vatsalayam is beautifully located. Take walks in the curving lanes and get a reality check on your fitness level. Hospitality is great, Food is delicious. Would recommend to anyone who seeks to find oneself

The trip to Shimla is always exciting and if the quality of your accommodation and food is excellent, what more can one ask for ? Our one week’s stay at Vatsalyam residences this June ensured that we had one of the most memorable stay of our life. ||Situated barely 3 km from the city’s busy hub of Mall Road in the sylvan surroundings of a Cedar forest, the transformation is eclectic to say the least. You suddenly feel one with the nature and at peace.||The property is newly built and very well furnished. The view from every room is fulsome and one could gaze for hours at the vast view. Five out of seven famous hills of Shimla can be seen in one sweep of eyes. The big, airy and sunny rooms with modern bathrooms having 24-hour hot water provision, are most comfortable. The crisp, clean linen and towels make you feel secure in a homely environment . ||The finger lickable food , cooked lovingly by the hostesses, and served in utmost hygienic environment, is a delight. Don’t hesitate to ask for delicately flavoured Dalia (porridge) and stuffed paranthas. ||Last but not the least - THE Shardas. A wonderful family with perfect amalgamation of what Himachal, its people and culture stands for. Humble to the core and affectionate in nature, they ensure that you feel like part of their extended family. And , of course, UNO - their pet dog. The room is clean. The host is very warm and helpful. Welcomed us with a breakfast. Suggested us famous places to go. Arranged for Cabs. Even dropped us to nearby temple. And to top it all, a parting gift!

Excellent place to stay for your trip! Been there during May and felt utmost satisfaction from the staff's hospitality and etiquette. The owner and his family are very respectful and generous towards their guests and they also provide adequate facilities to have a problem free trip. They also set up custom suggestive itenenaries at very cheap prices incase you have trouble deciding where you want to go, and also book drivers for the treacherous and dangerous routes of Shimla. Overall, an excellent choice for stay.

If you want to opt for a Airbnb in Shimla, this is the best place for a stay. With no doubt, Vatsalyam has the most mountain facing spectacular view you'll get from your room. They have 1 service appt, 2 & 3BHK rooms as well. I opted for the service appt for a week. Its 5 KM away from the Mall road. As soon as we reached there was breakfast surved. The host Asheesh is a really great, friendly and helpful person. He'll help for everything be it recommending good places for visit/food/site seeing or be it anything. On the last dat, we were hosted by his family for dinner. Asheesh's family is also very welcoming and lovely. We had a great time with the entire family. Plus they have a lab dog too who is very playful. We stayed there for a week and it was very peaceful and relaxing stay. Everyday waking up to the view of mountains and pine tree was a bliss. This place is not less than a 5* place. I would recommend this totally. Its exp of a lifetime.

Hidden gem! Location is superb, views are spectacular.Throughout the stay, Asheesh & his family were extremely helpful , friendly , supportive , caring & offered lots of suggestions and tips for our stay. Fantastic location, well-secluded from the bustle of the city but also just a 15 minutes drive away from the Mall road. We had a fantastic 8-day work-vacation stay at the Vatsalyam homestay. The view from the balcony is that of beautiful green hills covered in lush pine forests. The balcony itself is quite spacious. The rooms are quite nice and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The hosts are super helpful and friendly; the caretaker was always there for any help. Ashish helped us with our itinerary as well as getting us cabs. Wi-Fi speed is also very good although some areas get a stronger connection than others. Delicious home-cooked food was readily available and the cleaning was also properly taken care of. Overall, we had an amazing time and would love to visit again the next time we're in Shimla.
