It was a great experience staying at this place!! Excellent location with clean villas to stay. The food was too good here also welcoming and excellent service provided by staff. Especially yashna (host) was very friendly, kind and generous towards every thing. Amazing hospitality and place to be!! Would love to visit again!!

I visited the place as part of group last week from 18 nov to 21 nov. It's a nice and cozy place to stay. Scenic view and good food. Not to mention the host( yakshana ) was very welcoming. Cons: 1. Room heaters were not working. 2. I was staying in down villa and 4 of us were staying. And only one blanket was given to each person. (More blankets were requested) Which doesn't make sense given the temperature drops to 0° C at night.

What an amazing small resort. Managed by brother and sister duo. Strategically placed in Kalga on route to Kheerganga. The lodges are beautiful, well looked after and super clean. The food made by the owner herself is simply delicious. What an amazing stay.....will surely recommend to friends and family and will definitely be back soon!!!

I recently stayed at this beautiful resort in Kalga, and it was everything I could have hoped for in a Himalayan getaway! Nestled amidst lush greenery with breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains, this place is a haven for nature lovers and those looking to disconnect from city life. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained with large windows that framed the stunning valley. Waking up to the view of the mountains and the sounds of birds was pure bliss. The resort’s common areas were equally inviting, with spots to lounge, read, or simply soak in the peaceful surroundings. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. They even helped organize local treks and guided us to nearby attractions like Kheerganga. The food was fresh, local, and absolutely delicious - perfect after a day of hiking or exploring. If you’re looking for a place to relax, rejuvenate, and connect with nature, I highly recommend this resort. Kalga is a hidden gem, and this resort captures its beauty and tranquility perfectly. Can’t wait to return!

Property was clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast offered with a wide variety of food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect for a walk around the apple Orchards and the owner yashna her hospitality and what a food she makes 😍 must try once 😘

The shared dormitory is part of the cafe. So when you opt for the dorm you can expect people from outside coming in. There is no division between the cafe and dorm. There was couple of incidents of our personal belongings being touched and moved around without our knowledge. Also the owners are quite rude and not really accommodating. Our first night there they had music playing with the lights on even though it was evident all of us were tired and some had even had gone to sleep. The food in the cafe is extremely average / below average - not worth the price. Honestly wouldn’t recommend this place. There are better places with nicer hosts in the area

If you want a stress free, calm and peaceful stay with a friendly host, this is definitely not the place for you. The owner was so rude that we cancelled our booking after we met her. Basics of Hospitality (if not humanity) are that a person is good to a guest (or a fellow human). This lacks in her. For me, meeting good people is very important when I take a trip, unfortunately this was not the case with her.

Although we didn't stay/eat at The Shire, we had a warm drink before a nice walk in surrounding nature. Yashna the owner was kind and helpful, we had a great time chatting with her! Learned a lot about the area. Her love for Kalga is clear. The place is sweet, family run and has a cool concept :)
