Hideaway Homestay

It was the wonderful stay at Hideaway homestay, the owner was very friendly and even the caretaker were too good to us worth the every rupee paying. The food was delicious. A special thanks to Mr. Venugopal (Owner) and Mr.Venkatesh (caretaker).

Very good facility in middle of coffee estate with good privacy. The estate owner is very courteous. Kitchen is equipped with basic utensils for kids needs. Cook takes care of the rest and on demand you cam get more utensils for self cooking. Did not use the camp fire, however should be a great experience for the pleasant weather there.

Giving 2 stars only for the bad service. The caretaker wasn't friendly at all and already had a judgement about us because we were north Indian bachelors. The moment we entered the homestay, he asked how long have you been in karnataka and why don't you know kannada yet. Found the owner also very money minded. They had wifi but that also they turned off at night. If the service was good, would have given this 5stars. Very well maintained homestay amidst coffee plantation away from the city's hustle. The rooms were huge and all the rooms had attached washroom. The stay has kitchen but could be used only by parents to boil water or milk for kids. The food served was good. Had to offroad for around a km to reach the homestay.

We were lucky to find this gem in Chikmaglur, the place is literally hidden away from the city deep within the coffee farm. Its a big property (80 acres) full of coffee plants and other exotic trees. We stayed here for 2 nights and had one of the most amazing experience - the campfire at night with not a single soul in miles is certainly an adventure everyone should have. If you are lucky enough you may even encounter wild boar, bisons, deer and other exotic wildlife. We were able to spot a rare malabar squirrel and a few exotic birds. Its a perfect retreat for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The best part about the property was owner Venu, he was very hospitable and welcoming. The caretaker Venkatesh is also a very sweet guy, we had scrumptious home cooked food and the most amazing coffee. We will surely be back here when we visit Chikmaglur. Thanks Venu for hosting us :)

This is an average place and the prices are not justified. 1- No towels or soaps provided (ask and only then you’ll get it) 2- Homestay is hard to reach via a mud road which is surely to ruin your car’s floor if you’re in anything other than jeep 3- The food is average not justified by the cost of accommodation The best thing about this place is only its caretaker Mr Venkatesh. He’s very prompt and friendly.

We had a great stay here. The place is in the middle of the plantation and there is dense greenery around you. Just the right place for a retreat in the lap of nature. The cottage is well equipped with all facilities and is very clean. The hosts were very welcoming and took care of all the guests. We were served delicious homemade food for breakfast and dinner. Over-all, would definitely recommend this place for couples, friends and family. This was one of the best part of our chikmagalur trip

I would rate the overall experience as very good . Starting with the location, it's heaven! Small house inbetween lush green forest and coffee plantation. Rooms are pretty big and has the all the facilities. The service was good and there was immediate response on almost all occasions. Home cooked food was amazing, served hot. There is a small temple(build in 1950) next to the homestay ! Nice small walk in the coffee estate makes the stay more enjoyable. I loved the stay, really will recommend if you want to spend a good time with friends and family.

Visited Nov 2018 Located amidst 90 acre coffee estate, It's one of the most beautiful place we have visited. The food is simply delicious be it veg or non veg, best hospitality, spacious, clean large rooms with beautiful coffee plantation around. All aspects required for the guests have been planned and taken care very well, 24 hrs hot water, power back up, music system, LED TV, Aqua guard, Fridge Every item prepared is brought in host cases and on perfect timing, I would definitely suggest this place be it family, couples or a group of friends Thank you property owner Mr. Venugopal, and the property in charge Mr.Venkatesh a very hard working person
