Homested Homestay

We stayed for 2 nights in February. Our flight got in late and the owner waited up for us until 3am - he even peeled oranges for us when we arrived, which was a sweet surprise! Great location. We loved the view from the roof and enjoyed doing some yoga up there! Would love to stay here if we visit Fort Kochi again.

I encountered a very bad experience with the owner that affected my overall experience. The owners approach felt unwelcoming. It would have been great to feel more valued as a guest and receive some understanding of what I needed to make my stay comfortable. I don't recommend this place to those who wish to have a peaceful vacation.

I had one of the worst experiences with this homestay. The owner is extremely arrogant and lacks basic respect for customers. He initially quoted one rate over the phone but demanded a higher rate in person, which was completely dishonest and unprofessional. The way he behaved after receiving the payment was even worse—rude and dismissive, as if customers mean nothing to him. It felt like he thinks he’s above everyone, behaving like a so-called “Multimillionaire .” There were too many mosquitoes in the room but i would prefer staying in the room for a day rather than talking to this Homestays owner with such a bad attitude for 5min or so. I had a very long day travel. I reached the place only at 1:30 PM at night, so I had no other option but to stay there just for a night. To add to the disappointment, the property lacks basic amenities like proper parking, which caused significant inconvenience. They make false promises over the phone, but the reality is far from what’s described. I strongly recommend avoiding this place if you value transparency, good service, and a respectful attitude. Don’t get cheated by their phone promises!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this homestay. The host initially quoted one price but changed it upon our arrival, claiming that the room we booked was given to others—even though the property was clearly empty. The room we were offered had multiple issues: mosquitoes, a non-functional flush, and no blanket provided. We arrived late at night with a group of ladies, and the check-in process took over an hour. Instead of accommodating our late arrival with a quick check-in, the host was unhelpful, arrogant, and seemed more interested in lecturing us than helping. Parking was also a challenge, adding to our frustration. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're arriving late or expect basic hospitality.

Beautiful rooms and clean. Such a shame the owner is sneaky and arrogant. We booked direct with himself we agreed on a price while at the property. When it came to the end of our stay he told us to pay double the price than we agreed on. We refused as obviously we were not aware that the price was going to be so high. After shouting at us and calling us stupid for thinking the room would be so little he let us pay the price we originally agreed. Very rude man and unable to deal with customers in the correct manner. Manager however was a lovely lady. I suggest letting her only deal with guests from now on as you are letting your business down! Would not recommend based on the fact I don’t want to fund dishonest, unkind people. Plenty other accommodations in the area with lovely hosts!

We had pre-booked a specific room type, but upon arrival, we were given a different room. Despite our prior booking, the owner claimed the room we wanted was already occupied and charged us extra. This felt misleading and dishonest. The owner’s behavior was also rude. We arrived exhausted at around 1:30 a.m., yet he insisted on a lengthy check-in process, citing various “rules.” We complied with everything, but when he demanded ID proof for every guest, we requested to provide it the next morning due to our fatigue. However, he created a scene, insisting it be done immediately. We had clearly stated that we needed car parking, and he assured us it was available. But upon arrival, we realized that it was just his personal parking space, where we were told to park behind his vehicle. The next morning, when we returned after a short trip out, he had parked his two-wheeler horizontally, blocking us from parking. This was far from the promised parking facility. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Despite checking in at 1:30 a.m., he insisted we check out by 11:00 a.m. the next morning. We agreed to do so, but he still called us twice before 11:00 a.m. to leave on time.We had payed a full day’s rent but cheked-in by 1:30am and left by 9:30am in the morning.
