Mountain View Homestay

Mountain View was an oasis of peace and friendliness. We booked for 3 nights but stayed 6. The roof top area is the he winner - an extra space to chill out, play cards, eat and meet other guests/travellers. Afsal and Pradul are the best, they provide good music, coffee, lovely breakfast/brunches and great company. They have so much local info and totally helped us out with suggestions of local cooking lessons, treks and spice farm visits. The icing on the cake is some fantastic roof top yoga. The teacher is superb and has got me back into my practice. Honestly it was hard to leave.

The perfect mixture between a hostel and a hotel: the rooms are simple but spotless clean and cosy, whilst the roof terrace is a lovely communal space to hang out, meet other travelers, chil in the hammock or read a book. For travellers on a budget - there are a few tents available in a separate area on the terrace (under the roof, so protected). Location is great, a 2 minute walk to the bus station and the town center, 5 minutes to the Periyar Park entrance and ticket office. Food availabilities are amazing and very affordable in Kumily. Staff at the Homestay were very helpful, helped us plan a few things in the area and made us feel super welcome. One of our favourite places to stay in Kerala!

I cannot praise enough this place! Great location, peace and tranquility, and 5 star cleaning standards. Afsal and Pradul will make your stay comfortable and are living examples of good energy humans who spread positivity and kindness.

Amaizing stay in Kumily, Thanks to Afsal and Pradul for taking care of us and helping us organise our time in Kumily/Thekkady ! The café and rooftop is a to-go ! We definetly come back !!

We had a wonderful stay here and felt at home from the first minute. The place is beautiful, carefully decorated and maintained by the host Afsal and perfectly clean. You can either stay in the privacy of your room, or enjoy the great roof terrace to read a book or and have a chat with other people. Afsal is a wonderful host, helpful and welcoming. We extended our stay as we liked it so much. Thank you 🙏

I can only recommend. Super service. The accommodation was clean and in a good location. I also got good recommendations for a trip and other accommodation on the coast.

Best place I found so far in India. Loved the rooftop - simple arrangement but super welcoming. They were all very nice also with my 6 years old. Definitely recommended!
