NillOur stay at this property was disappointing even before we got there. The "caretaker " called us up asking what time we will reach. Despite informing him that we will reach at noon, he kept calling us up. He said he has some personal work & will go once we arrive. We found it hard to find the property because it's not easy to locate. You have to walk up a steep & isolated narrow track to get there. Once we reached in the vicinity we could not identity the property because the gate & the name board were covered with laundry drying on them. What a poor welcome! To make things worse the over zealous caretaker was missing. Although we reached at the indicated time, he decided to vanish. When we called him up he was evasive & rude. He told us that a lady is at the house to receive us. This lady was merrily relaxing in one of the rooms & not there to open our room. After 30 minutes they emerged- unapologetic & rather aggressive. The place was dirty- the entire area looked like a dhobi ghat (and continued to remain that way despite our pointing out), used bottle was lying leaking on dirty chairs, the rooms were musty & dingy- not aired- the overall feel very down market & sleazy. The rude caretaker was requested to find us an English news channel to watch. 20 minutes after he tried & failed, he confidently tells us that only Tamil & Malayalam channels are possible. Once he had walked out of the room we found the English channels we wanted ourselves using worn out tv controls. No Toiletries were provided. When we threatened to call up the owner, a soap emerged. No kettle in the room. We demanded hot water & some was provided in a flask from the kitchen. Verdict- what would've been a beautiful old world charm property- tucked away in a quiet part of Munnar has been left at the mercy of irresponsible & incompetent staff (caretaker & maid) who are treating the place as their private property. Seeing the condition of the rooms & stains on the walls I will not be surprised that these rooms are being let out on the side without knowledge of the owner. The false ceiling in our room was caving in as well. No meals are provided at the property. You have to go to town- and if you are not fit, you are in trouble. Not recommended to stay here in it's present condition & management irrespective of the rate offered.

NillI recently had the pleasure of staying at Rheinberg Town Haus, Munnar. The homestay is nestled in a quaint yet accessible location, just a short walk from the main market, making it perfect for anyone looking to explore the town. Do note that it requires a short uphill walk which is quite manageable for youngsters. The house itself is charming and well-maintained, with a beautiful garden that adds a serene touch to the whole stay. A special shout-out to Kapil, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We were in a tight spot, needing a return taxi at the last minute, and Kapil was incredibly helpful in arranging one without any hassle. If you're looking for a cozy, peaceful stay with easy access to the local market and exceptional service, I highly recommend Rheinberg Town Haus!

NillThe cottage is good and spacious for family.service is decent and quick. However it's ideal for young and fit couples or bachelor's who would like to take the steep climb up the hill to reach the cottage as the road is steep and narrow, hence cars have to be parked at a distance. Hence the climb up and down for breakfast and basis requirements is a trek on the road. Not ideal for old people and kids from convenience and safety standpoint. It would be good to keep some basic cutlery like plate and spoons and at least a kettle for hot drinking water.

NillGenuine Review: The place is good. The Caretaker is good, the owner is good. But, only if the cottages have basic cutlery it would be great. Charge additional 100-200 but the basic plates and cutlery is essential. Also, it's a steep slope to climb up so with additional tip/charge if the caretaker can get food it would be superb!!!!

NillThe host was very nice to us. He gave a complete list of nearby places to visit .. They had a very beautiful flower garden there , which was mesmerizing one .. the garden was a mini photoshoot point... The blooms of violet flower is the mainly highlight of the place... homestay was worth for the price.. Nice and neat rooms... With 24hr hot water availability... To reach the place is difficult . We had to walk for 1 km ... Not recommended for elderly people's ,bcoz cars are not reach up there ...only two wheelers can go there... Overall the place were good for stay with aa good ambience.
