I had a wonderful experience staying at this backwaters island. The serene beauty, calm waters, and lush greenery made me feel like I was in a dream world away from the chaos of daily life. The hospitality was warm, the atmosphere was peaceful, and every moment felt magical. Truly a place worth visiting for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature.

So now the management’s new story is that we gave a bad review because they refused us “extra discount.” Cute. That’s an outright lie. We paid the full amount — ₹28,000 for two rooms over 2 nights (12th & 13th Sept) — and what we got in return was a masterclass in how to ruin a holiday. Apparently, according to the owner, CCTV shows us “enjoying” our stay. Wow. Forget hospitality — who needs customer service when you can stalk your guests on CCTV and decide their emotions for them? Creepy, unprofessional, and pathetic. If you really have “proof,” go ahead — share the call recordings you keep boasting about instead of throwing baseless accusations. Now let’s talk facts: ❌ Rooms? A joke. Two king beds shoved on the floor with thin, useless mattresses. One AC dead, bathrooms with no locks, showers with no pressure, not even a kettle for tea or coffee. Because clearly, ₹28,000 buys you camping conditions with the illusion of luxury. ❌ Food? Tasteless, overpriced, and a full-on scam. Forget farm-to-table — this was barely kitchen-to-plate. No fresh fruits, no promised items, pathetic “high tea” (a sad omelette and watery tea). We literally had to walk into the kitchen to get orders fixed. Beef on the menu? Magically disappeared. ❌ Property? Filthy, broken, abandoned. Wobbly carrom board, rusted swings, grimy chairs, sofas that look like they belong in a scrapyard. Zero “farm stay” vibe — just a neglected dump decorated with disappointment. ❌ Management? The crown jewel of disaster. When we calmly shared complaints, the owner, Joseph, didn’t apologize or fix a thing — he argued, gaslighted, and treated us like we were the problem. Only the caretakers, Amal and his brother, showed genuine effort, but sadly, their sincerity was bulldozed by clueless and arrogant management. So here’s the truth management doesn’t want you to hear: this place is overpriced, unhygienic, tasteless, broken, and run by people who mistake arrogance for hospitality. Want a relaxing farm retreat? Do yourself a favor — go to Lake & River or The Count of Mundro nearby. Cleaner, cheaper, and actually worth your time.

This place is a complete scam. - The property is crawling with insects and ants—even in the “common areas,” where the sofa was filthy and covered in dust. - The food was terrible, dripping with oil, and laughably overpriced for the miserable quality, including the tea. - The AC in one room didn’t work. Toilet seats were broken. - We raised all these issues multiple times with the staff and the manager Joseph. Now, the owners have the audacity to claim that no such person even exists—what a joke. For the sky-high prices they charge, this stay was a disgrace. The management is shameless, unresponsive, and unwilling to provide even basic standards of cleanliness or comfort. Do not waste a single rupee here.

Expensive property with decent location but not worth the price. The location and activities that you can do around the farm are decent but there are many issues with this property. We asked for 1 extra mattress which was provided but was too thin for comfort. Very small and thin blankets were given and when asked for additional big blankets we were told that they had none. 1 bathroom did not have a closing latch and 1 AC was not working properly. The food was expensive but mediocre, options were quite limited. The common area was dirty.

Vinis Farm A Serene Escape in Kerala – A Perfect End to Our Vacation We live in New Zealand and recently visited Kerala for a holiday. Initially, we were a bit skeptical about booking this property due to a few mixed reviews online. We had planned to stay for two nights 16 and 17 Sept but decided to book just one to see for ourselves. In hindsight, that was our only regret—we should have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. The property felt like a slice of paradise—surrounded by nature, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The food was exceptional. We were shown fresh, live Karimeen and crab, and given the option to choose between spicy and non-spicy preparations. We tried both, and the butter garlic version was simply outstanding. The village tour and sunset cruise were definite highlights. The two-hour boat ride through the backwaters was absolutely gorgeous, even though the sunset was slightly obscured by clouds. It was still a magical experience. The service provided by Jose and Amal was top-notch. Amal, in particular, was incredibly cheerful and even taught us kayaking, which added a personal touch to our stay. The privacy, the connection to nature, and the thoughtful hospitality made this place stand out. We typically avoid large concrete hotels and prefer homestays that offer authenticity and tranquility—this property delivered exactly that. As we head back to New Zealand today, we carry with us beautiful memories. We've stayed in many places during our trip, but this final stop truly felt like dessert after a satisfying meal—sweet, memorable, and absolutely worth it.

Now the management is lying that we gave a bad review only because they didn’t give us an extra discount. Absolute nonsense. Our stay was pathetic, and when we simply said it wasn’t worth the price, the owner chose to fight instead of fixing anything. We paid in full — ₹28,000 for two rooms (12th & 13th Sept) — and got nothing but broken rooms, filthy property, bad food, and arrogant service. To top it off, the owner creepily claims CCTV shows us “enjoying” our stay. Seriously? What professional management spies on guests like that? The truth: ❌ Rooms — AC didn’t work, bathrooms had no locks, showers had no pressure, thin mattresses on the floor. ❌ Food — Cheap, tasteless, overpriced, and missing promised items. Even “high tea” was a joke. ❌ Property — Filthy, broken furniture, no farm vibe at all. ❌ Management — Rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. Caretakers tried, but the owner ruined everything. This place is a scam: overpriced, unhygienic, tasteless, and run by arrogant people who don’t care. Stay far away. Resorts like Lake & River or The Count of Mundro are cheaper, cleaner, and actually worth it.

I am writing this review not out of complaint but out of care — care for fellow travellers who might consider staying here, and also for the management, who I genuinely hope will take this as constructive feedback to make the property better. Hospitality is a service where small improvements can transform experiences. We stayed for 2 nights (12th & 13th Sept) at a “discounted” price of ₹28,000 for two rooms. The setup was not as expected — just two king beds, while the rest of our group had to use thin mattresses on the floor. Bathrooms lacked locks, the showers had no pressure, and the AC barely functioned. Basic amenities like kettles were missing. For a retreat that carries the name of a farm stay, it would be beautiful if the space truly reflected nature, wellness, and comfort — right now, that promise feels unfulfilled. The food also left us wanting. Fruits at breakfast, a proper high tea, or simple local items like filter coffee or lassi would have added warmth and authenticity. On Day 1, even promised dishes like beef were unavailable. Instead of us having to walk into the kitchen to fix things, it would help if the menu and service were more thoughtfully curated. Cleanliness and common spaces need attention too — dirty sofas, wobbly carrom board, and unclean swings at the sunrise point don’t leave the impression of a retreat. A well-kept common area can become the heart of a property, where memories are made. I did humbly call Joseph to convey these points, but unfortunately, instead of receiving it as feedback, the conversation turned argumentative. That was disheartening because listening is the first step towards improving. I do want to acknowledge Amal and his brother — they truly tried within their capacity, and it shows that good hospitality is possible here with the right management support. My humble suggestion to the management: Focus on basics first — working amenities, cleanliness, comfort in rooms. Curate a farm-retreat experience — local produce, fresh fruits, authentic dishes. Treat feedback with openness — it can be your biggest tool to grow. To future travellers: I recommend exploring nearby options like Lake & River or even The Count of Mundro Hotel, which seemed better maintained. However, if Vinni’s Farm takes these points seriously, it has the potential to become a wonderful property.

Now the management is claiming that we gave bad reviews only because they refused to offer us an extra discount. That is an outright lie. Our stay was pathetic, and we simply mentioned that since the experience did not meet our expectations, it was not worth the price. Instead of addressing the concerns, the owner chose to argue and fight with us. We paid in full despite the terrible service, and it was absolutely not worth it. To make things worse, the owner is bizarrely claiming that CCTV footage shows us "enjoying" our stay. What kind of unprofessional and creepy management watches guest CCTV footage to make such absurd claims? There was no blackmailing from our side — if the owner has any proof, let him share the call recordings he keeps talking about instead of throwing baseless accusations. The truth is simple: the place is filthy, overpriced, and utterly mediocre. Management can try to twist the narrative, but they cannot run away from facts. I'll say it again: ❌ Pure Disaster — Overpriced, Filthy, Broken & Rude! Stay Far Away! We paid ₹28,000 for two rooms over 2 nights (12th & 13th Sept) expecting a relaxing farm stay — what a joke! We got nothing but two king beds shoved on the floor with thin, useless mattresses. One room’s AC didn’t work at all. Bathrooms had no locks, showers had almost no water pressure, and there wasn’t even a kettle for tea or coffee! ❌ Fake Farm Stay — Just Cheap, Tasteless Food The food was shockingly bad and ridiculously overpriced. Basic things like filter coffee, lassi, or fresh fruits never appeared. Their “high tea” was pathetic — a sad omelette and watery tea! We had to march into the kitchen ourselves just to fix orders, and items they promised like beef were nowhere to be found. ❌ Filthy, Broken, and Abandoned Property The entire place was a mess — wobbly, half-broken carrom board, filthy sofas, grimy chairs, and rusted swings. There’s absolutely no farm retreat vibe here — it’s just a run-down, ignored property waiting to disappoint you. ❌ Rude, Arrogant, and Unprofessional Management When we calmly shared our complaints with the owner Joseph, he didn’t apologize or fix anything — he argued with us and acted like we were the problem! Only the caretakers Amal and his brother showed any effort, but their hard work was crushed by the clueless and rude management. This is a complete scam of a place — overpriced, unhygienic, broken, tasteless, and run by arrogant people who don’t care about guests. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. Resorts like Lake & River or The Count of Mundro nearby are cheaper, cleaner, and actually worth visiting. Avoid Vinis Farm Island unless you want your weekend ruined!
