Goa Homestays

I had my own doubts about the homestay till I reached there. But a very homely and friendly homestay with Kitchen. We had a great time at Anns Homestay and we would love to visit again.We (Friends & colleague 11Person) stayed here for 1 days, and we had the best time at the homestay. The rooms are neat and clean, the bathroom is also well maintained. The ambiance of the homestay is very beautiful.Its an ideal place for families, friends and also for couples. the stay there was very nice. we were 10 people and occupied the entire 2nd floor. Right from our arrival Mr.Shaji and Ms.Shantha were very hospitable and ALL of us felt that we were at our home. The hosts arranged for every minute things and took care to see that 80+ old ladies were given the right care- they even went beyond by dropping two of us at the bus stand in the midnight. The breakfast was the best food we had in wynad and it was given by the owners. We enjoyed every moment of our tay and will strongly like to stay there again and recommend the people to stay there. It is a value for money

As a couple we had booked the accommodation in its entirety but if two couples or a larger group then this place would be ideal for a stay in Sultan Bathery. Communication with Shaji was pretty good using GMail with him personally joining the smart taxi down to pick us up at the airport in Calicut (Kozhikode) as we wanted to travel from the coast up through the Western Ghats towards our destination at Mysore. The road up the Ghats was very nice with a great vantage point nearing the top surrounded by wild monkeys ! The same driver was able to show us around the Wayanad district during the following day. Lovely visit to the not so far away Agricultural Research place and drive through tea estates and lovely scenery. ||As said above the accommodation has enough space for more as there are 3 bedrooms and living room. 2 with ensuites. A balcony overlooks the road which is just down from the main road through the town and provided a good place for a sit down to take in the evening air. At the top of the small lane leading to the town is a large store / supermarket having all kinds of supplies. A walk to the central bus station may take about 12 minutes. The location is on the north side of the main road and west of the centre. A nearby lane allows a pleasant walk through the outskirts of Sultan Bathery as the lane of the accommodation is a dead end. Surrounding countryside is rather interesting and would change after the wet season a lot. In February it was very green except areas of deciduous vegetation. The entrance to the accommodation was up an exterior metal staircase on the side of the house so it felt quite separate from the owners living quarters below. We went for some "room service" and received some lovely breakfast dosas and one luxury : "bed tea" ! All very helpful and made our stay even better. The TV even had satellite channels ! Our two nights with excellent driver service and good communications was indeed worth the effort to stop over in Sultan Bathery.

Our's was a 9 men trip to Wayanad. All of us were bachelors. So, First of all I must thank the hosts for letting us stay here :-)||||Our trip was a planned just 1 day before the scheduled day of reaching Wayanad. In a haste, I browsed for places to stay in Wayanad and I got this one and booked it cos I didn't have time for a detailed research. I really didn't expect anything more than a place to sleep and refreshment. Some constraints were there with the room availability but at the end we were given the entire ground floor. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1 kitchen and 1 hall, for all the 9 of us and at a very much reasonable price. It was like heaven for all of us. Located in Sulthan Bathery town, very near to main road, but in a very calm and quiet residential area.||||The hosts, Shaji chettan and Santha chechi were very hospitable. We reached Sulthan Bathery at 5:30AM and we lost of our way. But Shaji chettan came and picked all of us up. Since it was a quickly planned trip, we didn't have time to prepare our itinerary but both of them helped us plan and arranged a commando jeep for our sight seeing.||||I highly recommend this place. Value for money. And don't give your ears to a negative comment here.

Ann's homestay is a nice place! It's a real homestay. I became friends with Ann, the daughter of the owners. She went shopping with us, wich was very helpful because of our language-barrier. Also I celebrated my birthday with them and had a wonderful time. We recommend this place.

We were made to feel so welcome here, Alex, the husband took us for a long walk around the plantation, Ann gave me cookery lessons, (no charge unlike some places), best of all we were invited to a family wedding. Ann's food was amazing, our 4 days flew by. It's an interesting area, could easily have stayed longer, but might have needed to let out the seams on my clothes,the food!!

It is the perceptive and friendly service that makes it worthwhile staying in this small family-run homestay. The owner is social at just the right level and they go to great length to make you feel at home. we did not feel for a minute also that we are away from home. A place with greenery all around. Water fall's, cave and wild life sanctuary was amazing. Hire a jeep and roam around the places to enjoy.||Food, sight-seeing and shopping ||Good place for Sight seeing and trekking

not a homestay in the traditional sense as you have your own part of the house. Nice though, shared living area and balcony. very nice room||||ann is very friendly and helpful though does not have amazing english.||||our stay in wayanad was affected by us not realising how big it is so cut it short for more time in mysore.
