Recently had a delightful stay at Shivalaya Residency in Thrissur, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, which made me feel truly valued as a guest. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and provided a relaxing environment, making my stay very comfortable. I also appreciated the convenient location, as it is just a short walk from the Thrissur railway station, making travel to and from the hotel incredibly easy. A special gesture that stood out was their willingness to safely store my luggage even after I had checked out. This thoughtful service allowed me to explore the city worry-free, and I was able to collect my bags just before my scheduled train to Tellicherry. This extra level of care made my trip much more convenient and enjoyable. Overall, my experience at Shivalaya Residency was smooth and pleasant. With its friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, and prime location, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Thrissur. I’m grateful for their hospitality and would gladly choose to stay here again. I was alone with my kids and felt safe and happy

On 8th January 2025, I Suday Prabhu personally had a talk through phone with the owner's son Mr Prashant Krishnan for booking 1 room for 3 persons on 13th Jan. On call, he quoted the price for an AC room as Rs.2000 & for a Non-AC room as Rs.1600. So I booked a non-AC room for one day. Next day, my train was 3 hours late and I reached Thrissur at 8 pm. To find out hotel premises exactly, I called Prashant more than 10 to 15 times from the train & even after getting down the train while standing on the platform but he didn’t pick up a single call. One rickshaw driver helped us & we reached the hotel. I told the person who was at reception that my room is booked for non-AC today. He is also so rude like the owner & said rooms are full & then he said that for one non-AC room we would have to pay Rs. 2000. I told him that yesterday the owner said Rs.1600/- but he didn’t agree & called his rude manager. All have the same blood from owner to reception. At last I paid Rs.2000/- for 12 hours from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am the next day. Even in city like Bangalore near bus stand good hotels charge Rs.900 to 1000 for 3 bed non-AC rooms & AC Rs.1500-1600 to 2000 with receipt. Hotel Shivalaya & Shivalaya Home Stay is overcharging without receipt. After payment confirmation a person at the counter said I will give you a receipt afterwards. But even at check-out the next day in the morning, the receipt is not issued. This clearly shows to avoid taxes owners do not issue receipts also. My wife and I are both senior citizens. I felt so bad because one day before the owner talked with me nicely. Next day, just to make more money, the owner was avoiding my phone calls & giving directions to his staff to take Rs.2000 for non-AC. If there is any misunderstanding in price then he should have cleared it on reaching the hotel on phone. Why avoiding phone calls. Avoiding phone calls is like insulting. They know that late at night where tired people will go. (Majboori ka Fayda utha lo) . When you go for holidays you enjoy where people are cooperative & have smiling nature. In this hotel, forget smiling, the person at reception was asking again & again “Paisa dala kya, Paisa kidhar dala”. I paid through Paytm so I told him to wait for a few seconds.. So do not go on 5 star reviews. Most of the 5 stars are the owner's relatives & friends. The manager was completely inexperienced and uncooperative. First time in my life, we faced a very bad experience. We do not recommend this place. There are many good hotels available nearby the bus stand. If you want to see Guruvayur Temple you will get so many good hotels at Guruvayur only. Its only 30-40 minutes from Thrissur. There is no need to stay at Thrissur.

The place was so clean and the host was so polite and welcoming. The room was spacious. The location is an added advantage. Overall the experience was great. Highly recommend it.. Worth the price.

This is the cleanest place that I have stayed at at this rate. It is like a home stay. I travelled to visit the temples near by, on the eve of Christmas. We booked two rooms. Both were super clean and comfortable.

This hotel is situated close to railway station as well as to bus stop. Hotel does not have restaurant or other fancy amenities. Rooms are big in size for a small family. But definitely clean and in proximity to town. For people need to visit guruvayur within five minutes walk bus is available. Also excellent Bharat pure veg restaurant is in walkable distance. Staff is courteous and small services can be availed. This one is residency and one more is homestay slightly cheaper on the same marar road. Hot water through solar heater is available but no kettle and coffee tea kit. If you are on a pilgrimage for couple of days and not in need of extra frills best place to opt in Thrissur. Walkable distance from vadakkunathan temple.

My stay at Shivalaya Residency was very pleasant. The room was very good and bath room was super clean and spacious. Very close to Swaraj round and close to the temples which Trichur/Thrissur is famous for.

We stayed here for 1 day, It was Nice experience , Budget friendly, Heater and A/c Functioning Good... Near to Vadakkunathan Temple ! Receptionist Shiva Kumar Sir Was Gentle and Treated the customers With Respect ! They have totally 10 rooms available... Best one If you are looking to stay with your Family !
