Wonderful stay . Simion the manager was very kind and helpful, and goes out of his way to help guests. Place is serene despite being in the city. Near to city centre. The tours organized were amazing. Simion’s friend Lappin and his younger brother were cheerful and kind guides, and made me feel safe on my solo trip. The room was comfortable and calming with a big balcony with a lovely view of the misty hills. Do contact the homestay directly for booking to get the best deals for stay snd tours.

We stayed at Caramel Homestay during the second week of June, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The homestay is surrounded by beautiful tea plantations, making it a peaceful and refreshing place to relax. One funny incident—I had asked Simon bro if the room had AC, not realizing how cool the weather would be. He simply smiled and said, "Wait until night." He was absolutely right! It became so cold that I was literally shivering until morning. Although the parking space is quite narrow, Simon took complete care of our car and parked it safely. He was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He personally took us to a nearby restaurant for food, arranged local transport for sightseeing, and made sure everything was hassle-free. The jeep ride for sightseeing cost ₹2,000, and the driver was very polite, patient, and cooperative. He even helped us get drinks when we had difficulty finding them at the local wine shop, which we really appreciated. The stay itself was very comfortable. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, the balcony view was amazing, blankets were provided for the chilly weather, and hot water was available whenever needed. One suggestion for future visitors: please plan your lunch and dinner in advance, as the nearest restaurants are about 1.5–2 km away from the homestay. Overall, Caramel Homestay offers a peaceful stay with beautiful surroundings, excellent hospitality, and hosts who genuinely care about their guests. Highly recommended if you're looking for a relaxing getaway.

Carmel Homestay is not in Munnar proper, but in New Colony 1.7 km up from Munnar bus stand. The hamlet borders the tea plantations and is more quiet than downtown Munnar and is still within walking distance. Made great hikes from the homestay to Periyavarai and Carmelgiri through the Reserve Forest.|Facilities are basic, but all the necessities are there: hot water, drinking water (boiled), WiFi and closeby are a tea shop and some basic eateries (dinners after 6PM). There is also a terrace overlooking the valley. The rooms are light with good views and with comfortable beds. The place is kept very clean and the hosts go out of their way to support you. A son who speaks good English is online helping out in case of communication problems.||Transportation to and from Munnar is along a busy road. I walked up and down every day, but it is not the most pleasant experience. Autorickshaws are plenty, but it is not always possible to get a correct (local) price. If you arrive at the bus stand and want to take a rickshaw keep in mind that locals pay 50 or 60 Rs for the whole rickshaw. If you share with others it is 20 Rs uphill and 10 Rs downhill, but I often saw five people in one rickshaw. So with luggage it will be hardly possible. Quote your destination "Colony Masjid Jamaat". From the mosque it is 5 minutes walk on foot down a narrow alleyway (on the right if continuing from the direction you came from). There is a sign, but it is not well posted. In case of need ask locals for help. The name of the hostel runner is Sebastian ( a person most locals know). People are friendly and welcome visitors.||

This place made our trip even more memorable.Siyomon is a wonderful host.He is very genuine in his work amd makes the guests comfortable.He is accessible for any time any matter.great relief to people who come to Munnar. The room is very neat and tidy,well maintained.We felt relaxed.The balcony point is also really great The only Issue was with the parking.But he arranged provision for that too.The premises around the home stay might seem congested,but it doesnt worry you once you reach the room.It is safe and super. Overall,the experience was really nice and would recommend the place to upcoming tourists esp if you need a hussle free space.

I stayed at Carmel Homestays, Munnar for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The highlight of the stay was definitely the balcony, which offered beautiful views and was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A special mention to the caretaker, Simmion, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He took great care of all our requirements and ensured everything was arranged smoothly. He also helped organize a jeep for our sightseeing trips on two days, which made exploring Munnar very convenient and hassle-free. Overall, the hospitality, comfort, and scenic location made our stay memorable. I would highly recommend Carmel Homestays to anyone visiting Munnar and would gladly stay here again in the future. 😊
