Bandekar Home Stay

I recently enjoyed a stay at a homestay in Malvan, where the cleanliness and hospitality left a positive impression. The staff was notably humble and attentive. While hot water was available for a limited time in the morning, the option to request food was convenient, though it's not part of the accommodation. However, there's room for improvement as they only cleaned our room once during our 2-3 day stay, and that was before our arrival. Additionally, we received a single small-sized soap and bath towel, which was not replenished throughout our stay. Despite this minor setback, the overall experience was comfortable and welcoming.

Very nice and well. Maintained home stay. Must visit when in Malwan. Thanks madam for having us. It was a very comfortable stay for both family and Friends.. . Please come and support such stays. 🤗🤍❤

Owner and staff are very supportive and we'll behaved. Nice and clean rooms. Also ventilation was also good.

It’s a new construction so the condition of rooms is Good & comfortable..it’s 15min walking from Malvan Bus stand..service is Good but in-house food not available except for tea & BF..

Let me first give an overview of what the homestay is like. It is a low budget G+2 homestay in Revtale, Malvan. Has 2 four-bed family rooms and 5 to 6 two-bed rooms. The caretaker is Mr. Rajan Waradkar who stays on the Ground floor and owned by Mr. Bandekar who visits once in a day. Rooms are decent as it is a low budget homestay. Mind you it is not a hotel, but a homestay, so facilities like soap, room slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, drinking water, tea, coffee etc are not provided. Every room has Air conditioning installed but is available on requests. Room charges varies accordingly. Bedsheets are changed depending on your duration of stay. For a 7 day period it is replaced twice. Similarly,.room is cleaned on request or depends on the duration of your stay. In our case, it was cleaned before our occupancy and once during mid of week during our stay of 7 nights. Water bottle (Patanjali brand) was available and charged at MRP. TV and cable.is provided. However, to enable cable had to recharge the dish for which a charge of 100 bucks was levied. Rooms were closed for.most part of year due to covid and less of travel during most part of year, hence, could find a few mosquitoes. However, on complaining, Good night liquid was provided post which the issue was resolved. Only problem that frequently occurred is big black ants who used to emerge from washroom at nights. Tried driving them away but of no use. Not seen during daytime. This issue was also seen in other rooms as narrated by Mr. Waradkar. The ants were harmless but, the owner needs to resolve the same asap before the holiday season starts. Coming to food: Homemade Breakfast was served by Mr. Waradkar. Since we were the only family who stayed there for an entire week and had senior citizens and a kid with me, so they agreed to serve us poha, upma, ghavne (neer dosa), amboli (plain utthappa), methi thepla and tea. The items were delicious and cooked as per our requirement. The items were charged around 15 to 20 bucks per piece or per plate. Tea was charged Rs. 20 per cup. All items were served as per our timings. For lunch or dinner there are many options in Malvan. However, if you do not want to travel outside then, there is a small restaurant (khanaval) where they serve home cooked authentic malvani food just next to Bandekar homestay. They serve good fish thalis, chicken thalis and even typical veg malvani thalis. Non veg thalis include chicken, pomfret, surmai, bangda, prawns, bombil, dried prawns and other seafood thalis while veg includes green veggies thalis served with dal, solkadhi chaas, curd, papad etc. Most food items are cooked in edible oil and make use of lots of grated coconut. A non veg thali would cost somewhere around 200 to 350 bucks while a veg thali cost around 100 to 150 bucks depending on the food items or full thali. The family who serves this are known by the name Dhuri. For venturing out, you can ask Bandekar's for references to Car rentals or for 2 wheelers. The car rentals range from Rs. 2500 to Rs.3250 for 150km while for a moped the rentis Rs. 400 for a day exclusively petrol. I had booked my own cab from a different vendor and it cost me 2500 bucks. Also, the driver was very good and roamed us around despite we were tired and way short of 150km target. Other times, I got hold of an auto driver and shared numbers and would call him on request when plying to nearby beaches. The overall stay was average and enjoyed my time staying at Bandekar's. This is not near to beach. The nearest one is chivla beach which is 1.5 km approximately, so 15 min walk. Other is Malvan beach which is within 1.7 to 1.8 km radius.

Nice place to stay. Newly constructed building. Clean rooms. All places to visit are very near from the location. Parking is available. Service is good. Availability of Lunch-dinner is beside the rooms n excellent in quality, no need to search anywhere.

What you need most on a tour ? A great helping host & Clean environment to stay ! Bandekar Home stay is a perfect example. Mr. Bandekar being a local person since birth with a great attitude helps & guides professionaly.His inputs are beyond monetary gains & makes everything comfortable. If you are alone,with family or friends - Bandekar home stay has everything to provide you. This is Home Stay. Good Facilities n maintain very well. Owner n staff are very helpful in nature. 1.2 KM from chivla beach. Surrounding is green and quite. Worth a stay.
