Matheran Bungalow

PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THE PICTURES ON THIS PROPERTY, We had booked this property for a weekend stay with our group, when we were booking the place, it looked really good and we were assured of all amenities. But once we reached there we realised we were catfished, the condition of the property was not at all well. Water was leaking into the rooms and the common area, this is not something you'd expect from a paid property, If you are charging an amount it is the basic right to make the property liveable and the audacity they have is, Instead of repairing it they have even kept a small bucket on top of the ceiling to collect the water, probably for rain water harvesting 😂 Overall the rooms were leaky, house was not clean, the pillows and bedsheets were stinking, they had some sort of stain on them (God knows what) and even there was no running in water in 2/3 bathrooms. I would suggest the owners to please repair the property, The only savings grace is the house help who knew about the issues but herself was helpless in all of it.

We booked this villa for a weekend and it was such a nice experience . We were a bunch of 4 people . The villa is very spacious and the premises are well maintained has an authentic coal barbeque which adds a flavour on the trip. The caretaker Haresh is courteous and helpful. Would love to visit the place again!

Good property to stay in Matheran. Rooms are quite spacious, and you'll experience some vintage touch. Quick access to Station & Market. Caretaker Haresh is very helpful and polite.

I'd booked the place for 3 nights after seeing the photos of the place in web, but left after a night. The photos look better than actuals. The windows don't open to any scenery. There's no TV. The fan has only one speed (which is high). For a cold place, which Matheran is, there's no geyser. Only one water tap functions in the toilet cum bathroom (the one closest to closet) and water flow is slow. The position of the micro washbasin in the toilet makes it difficult to use it effectively. The place is an old house with limited amenities now open to business. The only stronghold of the place is that there's 2 caretaker siblings, Haresh & Ranjana, who are really helpful and the food Ranjana gives is homely.

This place has no view! It's a house in the slums of Matheran. Good only for couples who want to stay indoors. The tap water is brown in colour. The only good thing about this place is the caretaker Ranjana who makes the guests at home and cooks good food. Without her this place would only repel customers! The 2 stars are only for her. There are much better options in Matheran for the price quoted for this place! I wouldn't give Rs 300/- per head also!!!

We stayed there for two nights. Care taker is nice, she will prepare food and make arrangements of barbeque as per requirement. TV didn't work through out our stay neither care taker didn't do anything nor owner of the house.

Matheran Bunglow is a budget level accomodation (as per aminities). It's slightly overly charged for the facilities and surrounding it has. Caretakers are very warm and do maintain the properties well. Certain improvements are necessary for the place and hope owners will consider them in near future. Good place but it is in middle of local people.. you wont get it loke any oitside bunglow.. dont stay here in summers it will hot like hell no AC and roof is made of metal sheets. In winters it is nice place spacious rooms but again in local slum kind of area.
