The property was amazing in every aspect ! The structure, ambience, location, upkeep and maintenance and the old world charm was truly amazing. Right from the booking and communication to the caretaker staff Mr Dumar, everyone was absolutely polite and professional! If you are in a look out for a lovely holiday at a family / child and pet friendly location in a quaint and quiet street, within the very heart of Pune, this is the place to be ! We are definitely doing a repeat trip soon !

Looked haunted. It's a home stay type property. Built-in 1931, looks like a heritage property. Interiors are very aesthetically designed to give a very morden look. Very spacious, very beautiful and very comfortable rooms, with lovely and comfy furniture. Located in a very prime location of Pune City. The property has a very big open area infront, where 4-6 cars can be parked easily. We stayed here in a group of 8 people (family). The overall stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. The property Villa Maria, lack professional staff. As it has only one person to take care of everything, though he is available every time. The attendant is responsible for - Sweeping, Cleaning bathrooms, making beds and the room, preparing tea and breakfast and also responsible for check in and check out process. The attendant Mr.Dumar Nepali told that he is not a professional cook and that he is getting trained eventually by seeing cooking videos on youtube. He did not know anything about the breakfast items that are mentioned in the menu book. Mr. Dumar said that he can make any 2 items for breakfast as he is alone. INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE PROPERTY. 1. The property i.e. VILLA MARIA is decorated by many dolls and toy or toy like animals and many artifacts inclusions in all the rooms 2. On the entrance gate in the plants pot , few dolls were kept. 3. On entering in a small passage cum room a horse sculpture and in another corner a fish hanging. 4. Elephants kept in one of the rooms , Owls kept in another room, a doll along with another sculpture kept in 3rd room. 5. The hall or the living area had non reflecting mirrors on one of the walls . A big ROOSTER was placed there, beside that, was kept a saluting solder next to it was placed 2 big queens of chess. In one of the corners was a water pot covered by a hat. 6. In the dining area on a side table near the entrance from the kitchen was kept a big CROSS roped in rosary and on the opposite table was kept a cat. In the kitchen on the racks were kept 3 ceramic pigs. # There were no mirrors in any of the rooms except the hall, which had non reflecting mirrors. Only one bathroom had a mirror. All the discription given above connects a lot with the Christian mythology, may be sings of keeping evil spirits away. Though myself is a very big disbeliever of such things. The property gave a haunted look overall. -------------------------------------------------------- Booking and reservation are done only online. Very poor response from the people handling the phone and the WhatsApp. My emails were not replied for booking.

Awesome living experience. Wonderful caretaker who goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort. It’s in the middle of the city conveniently located from all the important spots. Rustic and beautiful garden. House has a unique old world charm and is totally quiet as it’s inside a lane. The decor is absolutely stunning! Will definitely book the place again!

The villa and surrounding area is beautiful. I loved reading about the history of that place and that made the stay so special. Cleanliness: the villa is not cleaned after every guest's stay. The floor, toilets, shelves, all of it was dirty. The house can be maintained so well but it wasn't. Caretaker: Murari- very polite and nice. Food: no food is served. You'll need to eat at restaurants or order in. Activities- none. To summarize, the downside of this place is the lack of upkeep.

The experience was amazing and truly worth it. The interior of the house was so aesthetic and capture friendly. The cleanliness was amazing. The caretaker was also kind and took care of us with a smile on his face.

The stayhouse has a classy/serene ambience, alongside with the beautiful colonial style design of the house and locality the service is topnotch, the souzagad villa Maria is a must visit.

This Heritage House Villa is a must visit.. the colonial style design and the soothing and beautiful interiors transports u to British Era vibes.. it's truly a 100 yrs old villa.. we enjoyed the stay to the fullest and looking forward to visiting it yet again.. everything is so beautiful n peaceful n yet modern with all amenities and facilities

Ive stayed here a few times now. Really love the place and how the interiors have been done. One of the best homestays in pune.
