Phama Homestay

The best part about my Sikkim backpacking trip was the most memorable stay at our Jigmee bhaiyaa's homestay. I never felt that I was far away from my home. Deechen Deedi, Anchum and Kumi will be always a part in my memories. The hospitality that they have provided to us was more than a home. Jigmee bhaiya celebrated our friend's Swathi birthday like a big brother and she was so happy for a surprise cake cutting. We never expected that too. I would love to go and visit them and stay with them again.

We travelled as a couple from Kerala to Sikkim by the end of January 2021, with Gangtok being our first destination. Though travelling from Gangtok to Chandmari costed us a bunch, with the low tourist footprint and the covid-19 night curfew in place, Pha ma is a real good place I would recommend to fellow travelers any time. The friendly, warm and welcoming nature of the hosts and other members of the family, made us feel welcomed, though it was the first time we visited Sikkim. We were hoping to stay for a night and ended up staying throughout our times in Gangtok. The food was really tasty, homely and the hospitality was worth mentioning. We came back home with a few days' of nice memories and any time again to Gangtok, we will definitely be coming back to Pha-ma.

I have had the most amazing time of my life staying at this homestay in Gangtok. I came here for the first time in 2018 and since then, I kept coming back and staying in the same homestay every time I visited Gangtok. It's a traditional Sikkimese house with amazing and energetic hosts, delicious meals are served here day and night. I am.out of words to describe the time I have spent here.

The homeliest of all Homestays in Gangtok. Go here if you want to experience living with a local family for the best hosts Amchung, Aji, Agya Jigmee and their warmth and love as they welcome you into their home. Best local hosting, large spacious rooms, budget stay with fabulous local home cooked food that you wouldn't find in any restaurant. Also don't forget to make friends with the dogs and the lone tom cat !

Provided service and customer interaction was outstanding. Felt like more friendly rather than a business attire. Moreover the quality of food were excellent. Staffs are very genuine you don't feel like you rented service instead an intimate friend's home. The best home stay in Gangtok!

I'm lost for words to describe how excellent our hosts were at the homestay. They make you feel at home instantly with their warmth and love. Can't thank enough, Jigmee, Deechen, Amchu, Dorjee and everyone we met there. They serve delicious sikimese home style meals and tea which not only satisfies your palate but soothes your heart. I will recomend you guys to anyone who would love to visit sikkim the land of peace and untouched beauty.

I met aagya Jigmee, host of Phama through a friend at Gangtok and was instantly blown away by his energy and fun nature. You will never cease to have fun there I stayed there during the difficult time of covid lockdown for 4.5 months, and they made sure I was well taken care of with amazing tasting meals and wonderful room. Now they are like my family. The place is nicely situated close to forest with mountain view , but not far from Gangtok MG Marg ( takes 20rs, 10minute taxi ride). From here you can easily access North Sikkim and there are nice hikes to some key landmarks of gangkok. But most importantly you will remember this place for how good the family there is and how well they took care of you.. Make sure you spend enough time to get the host make you his special chicken curry. Then place does have cute dogs that you can spend time with. The beds are comfortable and big . Rooms are warm and cozy. They make amazing food, but if you wish to eat out, it's one short shared taxi ride away. There are nice hikes to bhusuk, rangay, 2nd mile /ganesh tok and hanuman Tok. And also sikkim state wildlife sanctuary ENJOY YOUR STAY.

I can hardly find words to describe the homely warmth I received at phama. My kid was running around the entire house which I can hardly imagine in any hotel or any other homestay. It was as if they were treating us like extended relatives. The caring and helping nature of aunty, dorjee, jigmee, etc goes well beyond the boundaries of professional relationship. Totally became a fan of Sikim people & culture. A go to place to experience authentic sikim home.
