The Basnett Croft

One of the highlights of our recent Gangtok trip is our stay at The Basnett Croft. This affordable homestay has spacious and well maintained rooms, clean bathrooms, sitting and dining area, open terrace with beautiful view of Gangtok city. As a host Chetan Basnett is gracious, warm and friendly. It felt like we know him for years. He helped plan our itinerary, arranged transportation and took care of us very well. Adding cherry to the top is the delicious home made food cooked by his mother. Thank you Chetan for making us feel part of your family! Wish you all the best.

A beautiful homestay with very comfortable rooms and necessary amenities. The owner, Chetan and his family were so warm and welcoming. A special shoutout to Chetan's mother who cooked delicious meals for us. We couldn't stop admiring the food we had there! Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. I highly recommend this place.

Well who doesn’t love to be on a vacation yet feel at Home while enjoying delicious home made food and Panaromic scenic view of the Gangtok city 🌃 day in and out from the open terrace and lobby area. The rooms are spacious , nicely decorated and place is well maintained by the family. The owner is very cool 😎 and very helpful too.

Rooms are clean, spacious with all amenities. Owner is very caring and helpful. I had Gangtok city view from front balcony where I enjoyed steaming mug of coffee every morning. Food offered was cherry on the top with breakfast, authentic local cuisine and North Indian dishes. Overall great experience. Highly recommended for authentic Sikkim experience.

Very good homestay. Chetan and his family is super helpful and simply amazing. Good valley views, nice clean rooms, big washrooms, nice homely food, super high speed internet. The only drawback is that you need to walk uphill a little (5-10 mins) to get a shared cab, which may or may not work for you. Keep in mind that its a homestay and not a hotel.

Location is 2km away from m.g.marg. Rooms were spacious,and neat and clean. Washroom was excellent. Food was delicious. View from the terrace marvelous. I think the best value for money stay in Gangtok. And last but not least,Mr Chetan is a very helpful and gentleman.

The best homestay we had visited. Chetan (owner) is very grounded and helpful person. He and his family contribution has made this home stay, the best one so farr. From hosting us with delicious breakfast to bidding us good bye with beautiful memories, this place literally added on to our beautiful experience in our sikkim stay of 9 days, out of which we spent super relaxing days in this homestay. This place has beautiful garden area and balcony with a good view where we sat for hours. My family literally enjoyed the stay. Above all, chetan helped in arranging cab for us at reasonable rates. That was not just a stay for us but an amazing experience to relish.
