Please don't fall for the fake reviews here, as you can see all the writers have written very few reviews otherwise. Terrible Experience at Gakikhim Homestay (Happy Home), Gangtok I had a very unpleasant experience at Gakikhim Homestay. 1. Misleading Information About Room Heaters: Before booking, I called the owner to confirm if room heaters were available as mentioned in the listing. After much negotiation, he reluctantly agreed to provide it for just one hour. 2. Parking Issues: I informed the owner that we would bring our own vehicle and would need parking. However, he later denied being aware of this and was completely unhelpful in providing a solution. 3. Horrible Location: The homestay is next to a flowing drainage line surrounded by garbage, emitting a foul smell. The approach road is extremely steep and narrow, making it difficult to even maneuver a vehicle. Despite claiming to be 1 km from MG Road, walking there is virtually impossible due to the steep incline. 4. Rude and Unprofessional Behavior: The owner was extremely rude and confused. He visited us to argue, stating, "It's my house, and you have to follow my rules," which were never mentioned beforehand. The rules seemed to apply only when it came to money matters, not proper documentation (proofs available). 5. Unfair Refund Policy: Despite the unpleasant experience and issues raised, the amount was not refunded in full. The rooms are as mentioned in the pictures. Clean and well maintained. But the washrooms are quite small. Overall, I found the stay to be misleading, uncomfortable, and poorly managed. I would not recommend this homestay to anyone.

Horrible Experience at Gakikhim Homestay (Happy Home), Gangtok I regret choosing this 1. Parking Chaos: I clearly informed the owner that we’d bring our own vehicle and would need parking. Yet, upon arrival, he acted as if this was news to him and provided no proper parking solution. 2. The rooms were tidy well maintained but with poor ventilation 3. Terrible Location and Environment: The location is a nightmare. It’s next to a drainage line, surrounded by garbage, with an unbearable foul smell. The homestay is on a steep, narrow road where even maneuvering a single vehicle is extremely challenging. Despite claiming it’s 1 km from MG Road, walking there is impossible due to the steep incline. 4. Rude and Unprofessional Owner: The owner’s behavior was shocking. He came to argue, saying things like, “It’s my house, and you have to follow my rules.” These so-called rules were never communicated to us beforehand and only seemed to apply when it was about money. For other things, like proper documentation, he didn’t care (I have screenshots to prove this). To top it off, he told us to vacate the room, adding insult to injury. 5. Unjust Refund Policy: Despite all the trouble and stress, the owner refused to refund the full amount, which is completely unacceptable.

My stay at Gakikhim Homestay was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, every aspect of my experience was filled with warmth, hospitality, and unforgettable moments. 1.The hosts welcomed me like an old friend, ensuring that I felt right at home from the very beginning. Their genuine kindness and attentiveness made me feel like a part of their family, and I truly appreciated their efforts to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. 2. My room was a cozy haven, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the comforts I could ask for. From the plush bedding to the charming decor, every detail was thoughtfully chosen to create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. 3. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views that greeted me at every turn. Whether sipping morning coffee on the rooftop or night view of Gangtok City, I was constantly reminded of the beauty and splendor of the Gangtok city. In conclusion, this homestay is a gem worth discovering. With its exceptional features and heartfelt hospitality, it provides a true home away from home experience.

Our stay at the happy home homestay was very pleasant and one which we will remember forever due to their hospitality. The food prepared by Geeta aunty was delicious and very hygienic. The entire family helped us plan our itinerary in Sikkim. Our stay was smooth cause of their assistance in planning vehicles to roam around and booking other home stays in north and south sikkim. I can vouch for this place and would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to sleep peacefully and eat tasty homemade meals after a long day of site seeing. There is a truly a reason why they named it as “happy home”.

We have had a pleasant experience in staying in this homestay. The unique thing about this homestay was that it can accommodate larger group of people since they also give the entire floor which has 3 separate rooms, kitchen, living room. We are very thankful for the hospitality shown by the owner family 🙏. As we belong to Delhi and pure vegetarian, there was limited food options in the local market, but this problem was resolved by the owner's family as they provided home cooked awesome food. We are grateful to them. It's a newly built house, rooms are neat and clean. Overall, this homestay is highly recommended.

Kunzang and his family took extra care of us and made us feel like home. His family is very hospitable and so very generous and they made us feel like their own family members. Food was super yummy, and his Mom was very sweet and helpful. His sister too helped us a lot and the food was great 👍. His brother in law was extremely concerned about us, and over alll we had a Good Vacation in Gangtok.

One of the best homestays I 've visited ! Beautiful peaceful location nearby Mg marg Gengtok city. Rooms are very clean and beautifully designed Food quality very nice.fully traditional home made food served by host There's so much more to this place ! The amazing location,food,room , view ect.only one part.the best part of the home stay the host and his family who themselves live on uper stairs ,they treat us like a family friend and make a true "Home stay,,,,"
