Savithri Gemini Ganesh Bungalow

We had a wonderful stay at Savithri Gemini Ganesh Bungalow during our trip to Kodaikanal. The location is excellent—Kodaikanal Lake is just a 1–2 minute walk away, and there are plenty of eateries nearby, making it very convenient. The bungalow has a charming British-era heritage feel and is well maintained. We visited as a group of 15 friends, and the spacious hall with comfortable seating was perfect for spending quality time together. The bedrooms aren't very large, but they are clean, cozy, and comfortable. The food was absolutely top-notch, and the property also has ample parking space, which is a big advantage for larger groups. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I would definitely recommend Savithri Bungalow to families and groups looking for a comfortable stay in the heart of Kodaikanal. Worth a visit!

A wonderful stay at Savithri Gemini Ganesan Bungalow in Kodaikanal! The bungalow is beautifully maintained with a charming heritage feel, spacious rooms, and a peaceful atmosphere. The location is excellent, close to Kodai Lake yet quiet and relaxing. The staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help. The highlight of our stay was the food—absolutely excellent! Every meal was fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. We truly looked forward to every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you're looking for a comfortable heritage stay with outstanding hospitality and amazing food, I highly recommend this place. We had a memorable experience and would definitely love to visit again! This is our second visit.

Stayed here with our group of 13 for 5 days and had a wonderful experience. The bungalow comfortably accommodated all of us — spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, and loads of heritage character. The food was excellent throughout our stay, and the staff were extremely courteous and attentive to every request. Location is unbeatable, just a short walk to Kodai Lake and the main bazaar, yet quiet and peaceful. Perfect for large family groups looking for a memorable Kodaikanal stay. Highly recommend!

If you value your family's safety, especially if you're travelling with children, think twice before staying here. Absolutely horrible experience. Early one morning, my 4-year-old daughter used the health faucet in the bathroom. Without any warning, the water suddenly became scalding hot and caused severe burns to her genital area. She screamed in pain, and we had to immediately cool the burns and seek urgent medical treatment. As any parent would know, seeing your child suffer such an injury is devastating. A health faucet should never discharge water at a temperature capable of causing burns, especially in accommodation that welcomes families with young children. What disappointed us even more was the way this incident was handled. We requested reimbursement of our medical expenses and appropriate compensation for the pain, trauma, and injury our daughter suffered. Instead of the owner or management speaking with us directly, we were asked to communicate through an employee. The employee, ANAND, extremely hesitant, said he could possibly arrange reimbursement of the medical expenses, but he could not agree to any further compensation. The employee told us that any compensation paid to us would be deducted from his salary and asked us to reconsider. We made it clear that we were not blaming the employee and that this was a management and guest safety issue. After that, our calls went unanswered. When we called from another phone number, the manager, SRI NITHYA answered. Sri Nithya’s lack of empathy shocked us. Rather than expressing concern for our injured child or discussing how the incident could be resolved, she stated that the burns were due to our negligence and told us to "take legal action if you need to.” How can steaming hot water from a health faucet be attributed to parental negligence? During the conversation, Sri Nithya justified her position by comparing my daughter's injury to a car accident, saying that when a car is involved in an accident, one only pays for the damage and not for the entire car. I found this analogy deeply disturbing. A child's physical injury and trauma cannot be equated to repairing a damaged vehicle. At that moment, it became clear to us that the management viewed this as a financial inconvenience rather than a serious safety incident involving a young child. We have photographs of the injuries, medical records, and documentation of the treatment our daughter received.We were seeking a fair and amicable resolution, but instead we were met with denial of responsibility and a dismissive attitude. The incident itself was horrific. The way it was handled made it even worse. I hope no other family has to go through what we did.
