NillVery beautiful, calm and scenic location. The rooms & bathrooms were really clean and well maintained. The staff too were very humble. As this property is preferred by families who are vegetarian & don't drink alcohol during their stay, I would request the owner to make the place a strictly NO SMOKING zone. Our trip was partially ruined because of two other families that had come. The two men were found smoking in the parking area. The stench of the smoke was even reaching our rooms due to the wind. Even the cigarette butts were just thrown in the lawn area. Also, when the men moved past our rooms or sat in the dining area we could smell the strong cigarette odour. This was the only unpleasant part during our stay. Also, the quality & choice of complementary breakfast could be improved as it does not reflect the price of the stay.

NillA Serene Retreat in the Heart of Nature I recently had the pleasure of staying at Prakritilaya Nature Homes for two days, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the peaceful and pristine surroundings of Kotagiri, this property offers an immersive escape into nature while providing all the comforts of a well-designed retreat. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The cottages are thoughtfully designed to blend in with the natural environment, and the attention to detail is impressive. I especially appreciated the quietness, allowing me to unwind, meditate, and enjoy some deep work without any distractions. What truly sets Prakritilaya apart is its commitment to sustainability. Every element, from the architecture to the locally sourced food, reflects a deep respect for nature. The food, by the way, was delicious—fresh, vegetarian, and made with love. For someone who values health and mindful living, this was a huge plus. Waking up to the sound of birds, enjoying the cool breeze, and taking peaceful walks amidst nature was refreshing for the soul. I even stumbled upon the rare Neelakurinji flowers, which blossom once every 12 years—a magical experience! If you're seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and a chance to reconnect with yourself and nature, Prakritilaya is the perfect destination. I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired, and I can't wait to return.

NillArun is the captain of the ship and manages Prakritalaya as a benchmark ecotourism project perhaps the only one of its kind in Nilgiris! We landed up based on superlative reviews in Trip advisor and for a while didn't believe it could be so true. The place is nestled in a valley of tea estate amidst the mountains of Western ghats. Just the descent to the resort off the main road is itself an experience and walk around to the nearby village is another. The place practices what it preaches - zero nonsense approach to plastics/ waste. They even ask us to bring a waste bag to collect all nonsense back to our cities! 😅 Food experiences were top notch and the rich walnut & salad soaked in butter is an experience which we have made part of our lives back home! We could meditate enough (we practice Sahaja Yoga) and felt the vibrations of the place complimenting our inner journey. If you're a casual tourist and someone who needs some sort of external intoxication to enjoy the awesome nature, and restlessly wander, this is NOT the place for you. This is for sane, people. Thanks Arun for having a team that complimented well with our stay there by being at best service of their optimal ability!

NillDuring a recent trip to the Nilgiris, Mudumalai & Bandipur, we stopped by at PrakritiLaya Nature Homes for lunch. Located within a tea estate, it is a lovely getaway from the urban madness. They serve lunch for outsiders who aren't staying with them on prior request. They stock some really good homemade jams, limited edition chocolates & teas. Loved the homestyle food & the efforts taken by the founder Arun & his team to follow eco conscious principles & try to be zero waste. Will look forward to staying here for a weekend next time around.

NillEscape the chaos of the city at this homestay nestled amidst endless tea gardens in hilly TN. Arun, with his vast knowledge of the region, is a lovely host and will regale you with tales of animals, flora and people of Kotagiri, as his staff serve tea sourced from their own estate. If you're okay with vegetarian food, which was also great, it's the perfect getaway for a weekend or more, especially for those who like hikes.

NillTrue to its name,it's a resort nestled in nature.Surrounded by greenery on all sides and the only sounds you can hear are those of bees buzzing or the birds chirping. You can enjoy the mother Earth more knowing that they follow the principles of low waste(no usage of disposables and composting the wet waste) and doing their bit to preserve our planet's balance. Also it's worth mentioning about the tribal village visit that Arun has suggested and accompanied us on. One of oldest tribes - toda tribe - their lifestyle and their beliefs teach all of us how to worship and live in harmony with nature.

NillNestled in the beautiful tea estates, this cozy place is a must-visit. It's a peaceful retreat away from the hustle of Ooty, ideal for nature lovers. The food is tasty and soulful, perfect for vegetarians like me. They arrange tea trail walks, visits to the tea factory, eucalyptus oil distillation unit, and strawberry farms. With only 3 rooms, they pay great attention to detail. Big thanks to Arun & team. I'll definitely come back, and next time with the whole family! :)

NillWe stayed in Prakritilaya for 3 days. Mr.Arun made sure our stay was comfortable, right from our check-in to checkout Mr.Arun and his staff made sure everything went well. Rooms - Rooms has this vintage feel and also neat and clean. Food - Food was freshly prepared for us and they take the order two to three hours before the lunch/dinner timings. I must say that it was delicious and both quality \ quantity was good. My Kids are little picky eaters and yet they enjoyed thoroughly. Activities - The resort has lot of options to keep the kids engaged and we also tried the walk in the tea estate. Prakash (Senior staff) explained us how the tea harvesting is done and it was a learning experience for us. Zero waste concept - Mr Arun and team are environment conscious and they follow the concept of zero waste, they make sure that no plastic or non degradable waste are dumped in the land. Mr Arun also guided as with the right shops and contacts to explore Kothagiri. Thank you so much Arun it was a memorable experience, special thanks to Prakash and other staffs who helped us in all way possible. Looking forward for our next visit and all the best for all your future projects. Thank you Panneerselvam Murugesan.
