I had the most wonderful stay at this homestay! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it’s a serene paradise surrounded by lush greenery. The hosts, Shekhar Sir, and his wife - were welcoming, making me feel right at home. The food was delicious; every meal felt like a lovingly prepared treat. It’s the perfect place to unwind and recharge—I can’t wait to visit again! 🌿✨

Great location. Lovely rooms. Great staff. Great family. Cute dogs. Beatiful garden. I just felt in love with this place. The gardeners are taking great care of the garden, the cooks prepare lovely tasty and healthy food. You can really feel how they take care of you. It´s so quiet and clean everywhere. You can watch the sunrise in the morning. And you are on the top of Almora. It could not be better. There is also the nicest morning and sunset walk just behind the garden from where you can see the sunset or go to a tempel. I think the best word for describing the homestay is "shanti". It is a real home. Not just the persons living and working there make it a home but also the dogs. They are so lovely. The first dogs of this kind I met in India or even more - all over the world. There is so much love and passion about this place. Will come back here again some time for sure. Long story short: Great place to be.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning property nestled in the mountains, and I can't recommend it enough. The views were absolutely breathtaking, with sweeping vistas of lush greenery and chanting gardens. The room itself was beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. The interior was cozy yet spacious, and the large windows allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the natural surroundings. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was the helpful and smiling Prakash ji. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Whether it was recommending local tours, assisting with any special requests, or simply offering a warm welcome, the service was impeccable. Such a dreamy cottage nestled in the cantonment with excellent food and service. Prakash ji and team have set new standards for service excellence. He prepares food with passion and always delivers more than what one would expect - Indian, Continental, Pahadi - whatever be the palate - he is amazing at it.

This property is a definite surprise and ticks all boxes. Deodar is nestled among (what else!) Deodar trees in the upper reaches of Almora. This colonial bungalow has many wonderful highlights, especially its location and beauty. Though what topped for us was their friendly chef and manager Prakash. He is there to navigate you to the property, given its quiet location in the Cantt area. And Prakash is always on call, be it for any of your meals on any other requirement. His other expertise is serving you hot, lip-smacking food! The rooms in the property are spacious, high ceilings that were a feature of colonial houses. A large sit-out gives you a picture-perfect view of the sunrise and their garden along with the surrounding hills and the valley. You can spend hours gazing at the majestic deodars and beautiful surroundings of the Kumaon hills. It’s a perfect place for a few days of downtime, to spend with yourself and in the company of nature. Shekhar and his lovely wife are great hosts, making sure that your stay is comfortable. You won't find a better place in the heart of Almora or even around. In fact, it exceeds expectations.

Deodar Homestay is the perfect "home away from home"! On my first solo adventure, I thought of rediscovering myself in a new and exciting environment when someone told me that when you're on a solo trip, you're never truly alone and I understood that when it was time to leave. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful. Shekhar Sir and Vinita Ma’am greeted me with such warmth, making me feel like I was staying with family rather than just being on my own. I'm getting emotional writing this, but I can't wait to visit again! It's an experience you can't miss!

I had such a wonderful stay for 3 days at Deodar Homestay. It's an awesome place 😎or can say it ls a nature's heaven❤️ everything was so perfect in each and every aspect whether its about nature or food or rooms or service or view. The owners Mr. & Mrs. Lakhchaura are excellent hosts with heart warming Kumaoni hospitality. The property has an heritage charm with nature view full of scenic beauty. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is amazing and full of hospitality and they welcome you with their big smiles on faces. The food is outstanding and the kitchen is managed by Prakash Ji who has magic in his hands in terms of cooking( one should must try their local cuisine - pahadi gutke Aloo, pahadi dal, pizza, mushroom soup, breads, Methi puri and homemade pickles) you name the dish and you get it beyond your expectations with full of taste. For pet lovers, Yuri, Oly (golden retrievers) will add joy to your stay. One should definitely visit the place for peaceful stay and to enjoy the nature's world.

The most wholesome stay I have had in a long time!||The owners have created a sanctuary where you can just be. Serene and nestled in a variety of flowers, the homestay is modern yet rustic! |We were treated to sumptuous meals by the very talented Prakashji, who planned every meal considering every member's taste, and we were 8 of us!|And a special thank you to Gaurav and Manu, who took care of us for 14 whole days.
