★★★★★We had an incredible stay at Fagunia! The views are breathtaking. We enjoyed exploring the property and hiking the pathways nearby. Every meal was delicious, and was the best introduction to Indian cuisine, especially dishes from the local area. Aditi and Anil are the most welcoming, helpful, and kind hosts. We loved the bread baking class and whiskey tasting. We wish we can stay at this beautiful homestay forever! All of the staff, in the kitchen and on the grounds, were helpful and kind. We learned so much about the area, local culture, and surrounding nature. We would definitely book a vacation here again!

★★★★★This was our 5-month old son's first road trip, and we couldn't be more glad we chose Fagunia to be his first stay in the hills. We had booked three months in advance and Anil patiently communicated with us through that time to allay all our concerns around traveling with an infant (and a very active dog).||Fagunia somehow magically happens to be a "remote" farm stay while being so close to Nainital. The last 3-4 kilometers of the forest road are every bit as adventurous (if not more!) as it says on the website, definitely recommended for SUVs only with high ground clearance. The walk down to the farm stay from parking is also a bit steep in places, but easily doable if you are wearing the right shoes. We were staying for a week so had a lot of luggage, which the staff was happy to carry for us.||The farm stay is in a small village with lots of farms and you can basically count the number of houses on the hill as you walk down into the valley to the farm stay. We were greeted by a passing cloud that dropped some rain and cool winds as soon as we reached.||We arrived by sunset, and Aditi and Anil welcomed us with bright smiles and a welcome drink that we wish we remembered more about.||The house itself is rustic. It’s comfortable, has running hot water and offers great views. There are so many quirky elements sprinkled all over the house that you really need to look twice at every nook and corner to fully realize just how much love and attention has gone from the hosts into designing the homestay. We initially thought there could be more storage for clothes, but we eventually managed just fine with what was on offer. ||The upper room’s back door opens right into the dining area, which is where all the magic happens. The kitchen adorned with the lovely chef, Deepa, is everything you’d want from a mountain home. The cuisine is reflective of the owners, Pahadi + South Indian. By the second day we were giggly excited about reading the menu that Aditi scribbles outside the kitchen before a meal, and trying to imagine what a certain dish (that we have never heard of) would be like. Aditi also whips up the occasional Panna Cotta which is to die for. The dining area is literally overlooking a forest, with the most beautiful and serene views. Pandey ji, the caretaker is a quiet hard worker and will always be around to assist with pretty much anything you may need help with.||In case you’d like your dog (if you have one, of course) to have some off-leash time, this is the perfect place. The property is sealed off with the prettiest white picket fence. Pets can run around without the fear of wandering off.||Between having fun with our infant and our dog and the amazing food and just soaking in the views, we could not spend much time interacting with Aditi and Anil, so we are already planning our return to fix that next time.||All in all, we totally recommend Fagunia for some time off from the city.

★★★★★There are very few places that linger in your head months after you visit, and Fagunia is one of them, probably the only one of its kind. As an avid Indian traveler who has explored the length and breadth of 17 Indian states, I can safely say that Fagunia provided one of the best living experiences I've ever had. The humble home serves not only as an escape from daily urban life but also as a rural, cultural, and human immersion that changes your perspective on life. Of course, in the best way possible.||Anil and Aditi have built a slice of heaven that pays tribute to the native species of plants, herbs, food, and much more. Their collective humility, inquisitiveness, warmth, and passion for building experiences, coupled with the breathtaking location that makes you feel right at home, is truly something to look forward to. They have put so much thought and pragmatic intelligence into every nook and corner of Fagunia. The flavors of food they bring to your plate are a testimony to the lesser-known ingredients of Uttarakhand and the plurality of the vast Indian cuisine.||I personally have to thank Aditi and Anil for giving me an unforgettable experience. There's just one big problem though: you might want to go back AGAIN and AGAIN. Sigh.

★★★★★Beautiful cottage in the hills. My husband and I visited this place with our 5 month old baby and our dog. The drive was around 6 hours from Delhi and the road was great so it’s ideal if you don’t want to drive too far yet want to immerse yourself in nature. The stay is located in a small and charming village called Fagunia Khet. We slept to the sound of water from an adjacent waterfall and woke up to birds chirping. The place has a gorgeous valley view.|The barbet suite was very spacious. The mattress was the most comfortable I have ever slept on while travelling. The bathrooms were clean with round the clock hot water supply.|The food was so simple yet delicious. It was a farm to table experience and we saw many fruits and vegetables growing in and around the property. We also did the whiskey tasting with Mr Anil followed by wood fired pizzas. The hosts were very warm and friendly and we had a great time with them.||Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful home!||Perfect place to unwind.
