NillHad the most beautiful 4 days at Silent Valley. Ajay ji and his family took care of us as their own. The food, location, people, vibe, everything is incredible. Highly recommend this place to all.

NillWe had our stay in 'The Silent Valley' for 2 days. The name resonates with its meaning. I was mesmerized by the way the space has been kept organically which evokes one's senses. Watching a variety of birds early in the morning and throughout the day was truly a delight. Honestly speaking I was very comfortable with the sight of any pet around, however, this trip brought a bigger change in my life. My son and I both became so comfortable with two pet dogs over there, especially, Sandy. The way Ajay bhaiya showed us what to be cooked from the garden was an actual treat because here in cities we hardly get to eat freshly plucked organic vegetables from the garden. The rooms were terrific keeping the natural sanity intact. Everything was just so amazing about this trip. We truly enjoyed being there in that place.

NillOur stay at this home stay was truly wonderful— a great time in a perfect home away from home. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a crystal-clear river, it's an ideal retreat. The delicious mouthwatering Pahadi food, coupled with beautiful and comfortable rooms, elevated the experience. The service was top-notch, and meeting the pure-souled family who owns this stay added an extra layer of comfort and beauty to our time there. The presence of their friendly cow and dog added an extra layer of charm to our stay. My daughter, an animal lover, found this unexpected perk to be a delightful highlight, making our experience even more special. The magnetic pull of this home stay is irresistible ,whispering an invitation for return visits.

NillHighlights - • A quiet and peaceful place, in the midst of nature, offering a 180° view of the hills. The area also boasts of a variety of birds, butterflies, flowers, trees for the nature enthusiasts to indulge in activities such as bird watching • Highly accessible, ~1 hour from Kathgodam railway station and a comfortable 6.5 hours journey by car from Delhi • Aesthetically done property, with a garden, a deck, a kath-kuni style dining area, a private farm and a treehouse. Stay options comprise traditional kath kuni style accommodations as well as modern ones such as the farmhouse and treehouse • Numerous trails, hikes and treks around the property to keep you engaged and active, ranging from a few mins to a few hours • A river flowing at a 10 min walk from the property. Absolutely clean and worth going in for a dip/swim (I did!) • Farm to folk food experience, with fresh organic produce and delectable kumaoni dishes, cooked yet served in a simple home-style way • Highly hospitable and friendly hosts, dedicated to providing the best experience out there. I had been yearning to take a break from work and city life, and was looking for a quiet place in the midst of nature to provide the catharsis that I needed. While searching for a suitable retreat, I stumbled upon The Silent Valley and it turned out to be exactly the kind of sojourn I was looking for. As I approached the property, I was welcomed by breathtaking views of the Shivalik hills, with crisp air mildly perfumed by the fragrance of resin from the ubiquitous Pine, and the distant sound of a flowing river. The property is nestled in a beautiful and secluded hamlet called Alchauna, which despite feeling like a world of its own, is just a few kms from Chanfi, which is a developed village in the vicinity of Bhimtal on the main route uphill towards Mukteshwar. The property is aesthetically done, with the architecture employing grey sandstone, Kath-kuni structures and wooden cabins. The common spaces include a natural lit open deck with 180° views of the mountains, which is perfect for enjoying your morning tea and breakfast in the company of many birds that perch upon the surrounding trees. Other common spaces include a garden that is beautifully maintained with an exotic variety of flowers, a kath-kuni dining hall again offering an eye level view of the mountains ahead, a private vegetable garden which supplies seasonal organic produce, which I was pleased to learn, is used for in the meals served, providing an authentic farm to fork experience. Ajay ji, the owner-cum-caretaker would also extend an invite for plucking a few veggies that you discern should form part of your lunch or dinner for the day. Many trails and walks emanate from the property, the nearest being right beside the farmhouse where I stayed, a pleasant short morning walk on a winding path which itself was an immersive experience, with fallen pine cones, a variety of butterflies and miniature birds prancing about on flowers, canopies formed by pine and oak trees offering a clear view of the hills through them. I frequented a short 10 min trail towards the river, which was again a beautiful walk interspersed with farm fields, trees, flowers and the chirping of birds. The river is easily accessible and the water is crystal clear, inviting one to take a dip or a swim in it. Another trail goes up to the main village, which is one of the many short trails/hikes around. Additionally, there are longer treks that one can choose from, including a hill top ancient Shiva temple and Karkotak hill top, both with breathtaking views. I stayed in a room in the Farmhouse, which was one of the many available accommodations including the Kath kuni house, treehouse and Kumaoni house, each aesthetically done, curated to provide a distinct experience and feel. I was warmly greeted at the property by Uncle ji and Ajay ji, who became like family by the end of my stay, super hospitable and friendly folks, who strived to provide the best experience for me during my stay.

NillThe place is beautiful, serene with all modern comforts. Hospitality is amazing. All staff members are very warm and take care of you like family. There are a few trails we went hiking. I was looking for a quiet place to start the year with enough time to myself and family and the place offered just that. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets also we were lucky to be there on the night with a meteor shower so caught a lot of shooting stars at night in the dark starry night away from all light pollution.

NillThis place is 10km from bhimtal lake. If you want to stay at a peaceful place free from the city hustle bustle then this place is perfect. But please note it is a farmstay not a resort. It's surrounded b mountains, green flora and many birds. It's a good place to spot birds for photography. The hospitality of staff specially Uncleji is very good. The food served was sumptuous and tasted like home. Loved the company of sandy and blacky. One can enjoy the kalsa river which is down the hill. Please note the last 3km stretch is an adventure and a bumpy ride.

NillSilent Valley is beautiful and understated. It let's you explore and uncover it's untouched charm - the quiet river, the tall trees, the chirping of a thousand birds, and the off chance encounter with a friendly local. There is no careful curation here. It is what it's supposed to be. Pure nature. All around. The two dogs (Sandy and Blacky) at the homestay are both gems. Sandy accompanied us for all our river trips, and made sure we didn't get lost. I got really attached to him. The service was accomodating and friendly. The food was fresh and hot, always. Lalit ji truly understands the heart of a traveler who yearns for a simple nature trip. Ajay, Manish were always there for us. And Amit helped us with the booking and billing process with patience and understanding.
