NillAbsolutely gorgeous place. Ended up extending our trip. This is an area which has thankfully been untouched by rapid and vapid development. The views of Himalayas were amazing. The location is a 8 kms drive from Jageshwar and Vrid Jageshwar intersection. The road is well connected and drive is pleasurable. I was looking for an off-beat quaint location and Kasar Devi( which I loved when I first went there a few years ago) seemed commercial. At Kot Kailash we were welcomed by the nature. With the comforts of a boutique and cosy homestay. Also, we felt a personal touch at Kot Kailash. Had engaging conversations with Pushkar, who had been a wonderful host having an incredible Kumaoni knowledge which translated to yummy local food. ( Read- do not miss the local Kumaoni Dal or the Banofee Pie). His love for coffee meant you can always ask for one :). One of the days went for a nearby trail with Pushkar. Incidentally other guests also joined and it ended up being a good bond over travel, nature and sharing knowledge. With a negligible AQI the location was spot on and we hope to revisit it sometime during the winters. Curious to see how the forest will look like in the snow :)

★★★★★Tucked away in the embrace of the Himalayas, Kot Kailash Retreat is a haven of tranquility and charm. The rooms blend modern comfort with traditional accents, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. But it's the breathtaking views of the mountain peaks that steal the show, casting a spell of awe and wonder.||Adding to the hotel's allure are its friendly companions Chotu, Mickey and Julie, whose playful presence adds a touch of homeliness to the mountain retreat. From wagging tails to cheerful chirps, these furry and feathered friends welcome guests with open arms, making them feel like part of a cherished family. With impeccable service and hospitality by Pushkar and his team, Kot Kailash Retreat delivered an unforgettable escape into the heart of nature, leaving us longing to return to its serene embrace.

NillKot Kailash is a beauty! However, I visited it in July, peak monsoon season, and hence couldn't enjoy the views. But I wasn't disappointed. The food (the banoffee pie is to die for!), the service, the rooms, and the property itself are all too good. And Puskhar is genuinely a nice human to talk to, he is a great guy.

★★★★★My family (6 adults+2 children) had an exceptional stay at Kot Kailash Retreat. The homestay is nestled between a lovely valley on one side and majestic views of Himalayas on the other. We were lucky to visit in March-2024 with rhododendrons in full bloom. Special mention of the lovely host 'Pushkar', chef Lalit, Chandu and furry friend Bhalu. Pushkar made our stay extra special with his kindness and hospitality. The Kumaoni food served was unbelievably delectable!

NillMy experience at Kot Kailash was nothing short of exceptional. The authentic local cuisine served highlighted the rich flavors of the region, providing a culinary journey in itself. The hospitality was outstanding; the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The host, Pushkar is the best . And of course, Balu, the friendly dog, became an endearing companion, making my stay even more charming. This homestay is a perfect blend of tranquility, local culture, and heartfelt hospitality. I can't wait to return.
