It was a delight to stay at Oonchadana in July. I stayed there with my husband and two kids. Though it is a secluded place, but nice for people who wants scenic beauty, away from city hustle bustle. Pankaj ji n his family(care taker) were very humble and served us to best of their ability. The property is located at a place where who would definitely need to have your own car/transport. It is one hour before Nainital and two hours away from Mukteshwar. All in all, it was great place to stay. But do not go with a mindset of a hotel, it is a homestay but with cozy atmosphere.

Pros - Excilent peacful location.. Silent property, private garden, perfect vibe for nature loving persons Cons - away from market , limited menu in kitchen, Rooms have fan and all basic facility but dormatory requires personal fan for each bed or AC in room Because all dormatory guest were complaining for mosquitoes and lack of fan when i visited in peak summer... Location is perfect for winters..... And other season.. Gps Navigation to property requires.. Owner and staff are careful.. Just arrenge some fans in dormitory...

Awesome and serene place, away from the now commericalized city of Nainital. Lying in the lap of nature, the property is located around 18-20KM before Nainital in Jeolokote. Although a 1.5km walk from the highway, the panoramic view of hills and serpentine roads from the property is a feast to the eyes! As calm and soothing it can be, with extraordinary and warm service offered by the staff. Highly recommended for individuals or couples looking to spend quality time amidst nature.

The home stay is nestled between loads of trees and you can hear bird song all day long. Really recommend if you're looking to get away from all the noise and hustle of the city.

We booked a room of 4 beds Its costed us more than 4000 rs When we checked in the hotel at around 10 pm in the night the room was OK but the washroom was not in the room, it was outside. And that too was stinking. When we complained about that to the owner then a worker started arguing with us that this is a Homestay and they are like that only. Even the fan in room was making very annoying sound and it was shaking so much that we were afraid it would fall off. And after sometime it stopped working. The next day they changed our room but that too was not very good. Not even the handwash was provided in the toilets. When the time came for payment, then too they charged extra than it was decided earlier. We had to take 2 beds for the dormitory for our drivers, it was decided that the cost per bed is Rs. 700, but they charged rs. 900 per bed and nobody was ready to even listen to us. The 1st night which we stayed there, we were told that we have complementary breakfast, but they charged us for the breakfast too. After a lot of discussion, they finally decided not to charge for the breakfast. The owner himself is not available when we need him and when we ask the workers they say, sir please ask the owner. Over all the very pathetic experience.

Was the very first guest on this property & on the inauguration day. Polite Owner and Decent Staff. Around 15 Km before on Kathgodam-Naintal Road. Best part : Beautiful & Scenic view from the property. You can have a very good weekend trip to live in a calm and composed environment rather than staying in nainital.
