NillHi, Me, my husband and sister in law were at Nandan Kanan for a week to kickstart this new year and I have to say, this has been one of the best stays away from home I have ever had. If you are looking for a home away from home this is the place. From the balcony view of the Himalayas to one of the best home made food - made with so much love and of course Bella and Lily the friendliest German shepherds, everything just makes the whole experience beautiful. Neeraj Bhaiya, Pinky and his Mom they all remind you how amazing a simple pahadi life can be and how we have all forgotten what true luxuries in life are after living in the cities for so long. I am definitely up for another stay soon. <3 If you can do visit Kasar Devi temple for its breathtaking view. Bhaiya can easily arrange transport for you. - Anuja

NillMemorable stay in Nandan Kanan homestay. Beautiful view of valley and some peaks of Himalaya. Surrounding environment is very peaceful and calm. Got preferred food made of no onion and garlic. Property owner Neeraj is very friendly, provided services courtiously.

NillBeautiful little home stay with spacious rooms and bathrooms with all the basic things you need to stay raw and connected with the village life. If you go post summer you will have a bunch of fruits to pluck and eat directly from the natures basket. On a clear day Himalayan range is easily visible. Home made delicious food is just enough to keep you strong and going everyday! Hosted by lovely set of people in the heart of their legacy farms! Must visit and experience. If you are looking for a workaround, wifi is included.

NillMy wife and I are senior citizens who have been spending a couple of months in the summer in different homestays of Uttarakhand and Himachal. If possible we do prefer a homestay that is owned and managed by a family belonging to the area. Almost all of our stays have been very pleasant, and our stay at Nandan Kanan was delightful! All of the members of our host family were very supportive in making our stay enjoyable.

NillIt was a memorable experience. The location is an offbeat secluded one which adds to the real fun as you will feel like you are in the lap of nature. The rooms are very spacious, neat and clean with all the basic amenities. The food is homely cooked and you will feel like you are at your own home. Niraj is a fabulous host who will be there to help you out with everything, whether it be regarding making your stay at the homestay comfortable or any guidance about the nearest tourist attractions. The best part of our trip was that he took us to a track to the nearest stream. It was a wonderful experience as during the course of the track, we were able to closely experience the village life of mountains, the beautiful orchards, farms and also interact with the villagers who were very welcoming. The people who are dog lovers would love the place a lot as I and my son did and would love playing and spending time with Bella and Lilly who are so very adorable. They were also a part of the tracking team making the tracking experience awesome. My son had a special connect with host Niraj and the two dogs Bella and Lilly. He was always looking for them. Thanks a lot Niraj for making our trip a memorable one.

NillMy stay here was very comfortable. 1. The room was clean and comfortable, washroom was clean. 2. The food was excellent. 3. Overall very homely atmosphere. I will highly recommend this stay for people who are travelling with their family. 4. The home owner, Mr. Neeraj was polite and very hospitable. 5. You have to walk 100 metres from the road to reach the property, can be an issue for old people.

NillIn April 2023, we had planned to visit the hills during the school summer vacation for the kids. Though we had almost finalized an offbeat location near Dhaulchhina village, Almora but later changed our mind to visit Mukteshwar. Maybe, we were pre-destined for Mukteshwar this summer. We have been to Nainital earlier but the trips were mostly to crowded places like Naini Lake and Kainchi Dham. So, for this time, we searched for the least crowded offbeat stay options on Google and came across this humble Home Stay named Nandan Kanan located at Sonkiya village in the Mukteshwar area. We had shortlisted three homestay options in this area but later finalized the Nandan Kanan Homestay based on the good Google reviews and booked it for a month-long stay during May-June 2023. This homestay is about 350 km away from Delhi, located 100 meters uphill from the last motorable road, and easily accessible through a 4 feet-wide paved trek. The homestay is nestled amidst Apple, Apricot, Peach, Plum, and Kaffal trees. The homestay has four rooms and each room is with patio/balcony having an awesome hill view. The rooms are spick clean with attached western toilet & bathroom fitted with electric geysers and guests are provided with spotless clean bed linens. The owner cum caretaker of the Homestay Shri Niraj Singh Dangwal is a great host to rely upon. He and his family served us sumptuous home-cooked pure vegetarian pahadi meals without garlic/onions during our stay. My Kids are fussy eaters and it's difficult to satiate their appetite but Mrs. Niraj Dangwal was very affectionate to my kids and she left no stone unturned to fulfill the kids' unruly food choices. They had not only arranged Desi Cow Milk for kids but also offered us local fruits from their orchards on a complimentary basis. Our daily morning/evening walk, usually a downhill trek up to a small rivulet, amidst the lush green fruit trees laden with ripe/unripe apples/peach/apricot/plums, was an amazing & unforgettable experience for us. Being a resident of Delhi for the last two decades, I could say that the pristine air quality in the hills has a therapeutic effect and my allergic sinusitis has gone for a toss. My kids have easily befriended Niraj Ji and his family and made them their preferred badminton partners. On a personal note, I have found a new friend in host Niraj Ji who is himself a spiritual seeker, an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna, and closely associated with the Vaishnav Sect Hare Krishna/ISKCON. Sometimes words are not sufficient to express our emotions and our visit to Nandan Kanan Homestay was one such emotional experience for our family. We had never visited any hills for a month earlier and this was our first month-long vacation in the hills. Our long stay has made my kids so attached to host Niraj's family that they were weeping while departing from this homestay. Perhaps, life is not just a journey but memories of our emotional experiences too.
