We were a group of 6 friends who stayed at this property in Feb and had a great time. It's located 15 mins from Mussoorie, so away from the hustle of crowd and also offering scenic views of Doon valley. The road to the property is quite decent and a big car can easily reach upto the property and be parked inside. They have a small lawn, ideal for a sit out, bonfire and barbecue. Talking about hospitality, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay with all basic amenities available and all our needs were well taken care off. The property was well maintained and all 3 rooms and washrooms were clean and hygenic. Sam, the owner of the property, was quite professional and he ensured that ample supplies for food, bonfire, barbecue, toiletries etc were in order. Special shout-out to the caretaker, Dharmender, who was very courteous and polite. He attended to our requests and offered great service. The food prepared by him was quite homely and delicious. Lastly, would like to mention that it's ideal for a group of 5-8 people (6 will be ideal) who want to visit a crowded tourist place like Mussourie but still enjoy quiet surroundings, hospitable stay and a personal space.

The property is located at a vantage point, overlooking the valley. But the problem is this: as soon as you off- road from the Haathipaon road, and drive down about 180 metres, this is the first property. As there is a lot of construction going on down the road, you have a continuous stream of vehicles carrying construction material, migrant labourers going up and down, so it is extremely noisy. If you expected silence and solitude, you won't find it here. Secondly, the first one, Wildflower Cottage is absolutely basic. The rooms are small, there is no storage space. The bathrooms have wires hanging, wobbly switches. The second is Shepherd's Cottage which is a newer construction. The rooms are big and airy, there is ample storage and the bathrooms are well done. The biggest deal breaker for us was hygiene. The kitchen in Wildflower is absolutely filthy, garbage was lying all over the place, crockery are all chipped, glasses are smelly, the kitchen taps leak, and we actually showed Manish the manager the kitchen cupboards in the Shepherd's Cottage, they were filthy! If you want to eat there, you can buy the ingredients yourself or ask them to buy for you. Food was homely, nothing fancy and served hot. The whole place reeks of neglect. When we signed the visitors' book, we noticed that the last guests they had was in May. So all the more puzzling why housekeeping and maintenance were so neglected. Disenchanting the whole experience was.

Beautiful cottage with breath taking views, very helpful and courteous staff, Manager Mr. Pant was present at the main road to receive us and show us the way to cottage. Very hygiene and homely food by Chef Gambhir. He prepared delicious mutton for us. Must for a family vacation with delicious homely food.

If you are looking for a great stay and a great vacation, please call Sam and book this stay. Not only did this property have mesmerising views but also great hospitality. The home cooked food was tasty and adapted as per you palate mentioned to the cook. The location is off beat making it a perfect stay for those wanting to be stress free. Sam thank you for being a great host and making this stay possible within our budget. My parents loved every bit of it and we had a safe holiday! R/Annie&Tridip

Everything was perfect here. The most enjoyable two days of our 8days trip. This is a 3 bedroom cottage with kitchen and a cook. The food was amazing and we can cook ourself. We will get a complimentary bonfire. The host Sam was outstanding and really helpful. He helped us to find room at nainital and he gave list of places to visit even after checked out from the cottage. The view from the cottage was amazing. You can see sunrise and sunset from the cottage. Just make a coffee or tea by yourself in the morning. sit back, relax and enjoy the sunrise.😍
