I’ve stayed for two nights with my girlfriend and we had an amazing time. All the vegetables are fresh from the garden and the nature around is really impressive. Thanks to our host and we can really recommend it.

I travelled with my husband and 6yr old daughter. The stay was absolutely delightful to say the least. The chai, the homemade food, the bonfire will make the homestay feel like home away from home. Jitender, the kids, his wife Seema didi and the entire family are so welcoming and friendly. Jitender will be your nature guide on the nature trails that they take you on during your stay. It's a bit of a uphill trek to reach the property from the village- Gunogi Udaykot. But one forgets the climb once you reach the property. Jitender sends his people to help you out. The mud houses ( rooms) are cozy and aesthetically done. There is an attached washroom. Room heater, kettle are all there to make your stay comfortable. Carry warm layers as it gets quite cold at night. The biodiversity of the neighbouring woods is mesmerizing. Jitender will help you understand the flora and fauna and will keep you engaged with Himalayan birds that are so vibrant. You can spot the Himalayan peaks such as Gangotri, Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Satopanth and Kedarnath right from the homestay and some during your trail. Don't forget to taste Burhans- the wild flower on your trail! The locals consume it as a juice! Thanks Jitender and family for such a lovely and warm experience. This trip will slow your life down a bit. Forget your city life when you are here! We were in bed at 8.30pm!

Great experience being there. If you are a mountain lover and prefer to experience the mountain living, this is the right place. It can be reached after one hour of uphill trek that will lead you to this small set up of homes scattered on mountains which forms the village “Nailbagi”. Mud houses are nestled on the mountains alongside curvy farms and dense forest with a view to Himalayan peaks and sunrise/sunset views. Food served during our stay was the best pahadi food we ever had and sourced mostly from their organic farms. Jitendra ji is a professional bird watcher and will take you to the forest trek for spotting some amazing species of Himalayas! Mud houses are equipped with all the modern facilities and internet also works here! It is straight from the imagination of living on the mountain home with some stunning views!

I recently spent two days at this tranquil haven, and it's safe to say it's a paradise for those seeking peace and tranquility. Nestled amidst nature, the place is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle, offering a pollution-free environment and serene surroundings that transport you to another realm. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the delicious Pahadi cuisine served, which tantalized my taste buds and left me craving more. But what truly sets this place apart is the hospitality of Jitendra bhaiya, fondly known as 'The Great Host'. His wealth of knowledge, especially about birds, adds an enriching dimension to the experience. From identifying various bird species to mimicking their calls, his expertise is truly commendable. The warmth and welcoming nature of Jitendra bhaiya's family made me feel right at home, turning my stay into a memorable family-like experience. The breathtaking views of mountain peaks visible from the property, coupled with the mesmerizing bonfire evenings, added to the magical ambiance. A definite highlight of my visit was exploring the Kaudiya Forest, where the diversity of bird species and the stunning mountain vistas left me in awe. Overall, my time spent here was nothing short of extraordinary, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape amidst nature's embrace.

It is perfect for a weekend getaway. It was worth visiting. You can take a local bus to Chamba from Rishikesh. From Chamba, you can take sharing taxi to Chopriyal village which will cost you Rs. 40 per head. From there you can start enjoying the beautiful trek which takes around 30-40 mins (3.5km) to reach the stay. It is a simple trek but I would suggest you do not take a lot of luggage with you. Jitendra made the trek even more interesting with his storytelling skills. When you reach the stay you can get a clear view of the Himalayan ranges and Tehri dam. You can even enjoy the sunrise from the stay itself. The stay is well maintained and the organic food served is to die for. They are very welcoming, and you will get the homely vibe. I would 100% recommend everyone to visit here once. I will surely visit again here soon.

We went to Chalo Danda Homestay with a group of 18 individuals for training, exposure, and learning purposes. It's truly a beautiful and exceptional place with a profound vision. Jitendra Ji is very passionate about preserving ecology, his village culture, and sharing his knowledge with the world. We had a delectable local breakfast at their place. Their Lemongrass Chai is very refreshing and a perfect welcome drink. The rooms look cosy and beautifully designed with all basic comforts.

A most wonderful place to stay ! The owners are a small family, very welcoming and attentive! I was even lost on my way there and he waited for me by the road for 2 hours as there is a small hike of around 4km. I have to say a relatively light one but even for the most unfit people would take like an hour to get there , which is totaly worth it ! The view of the great Himalayas that opens up as you get to the property is amazing! There's also homemade food for breakfast lunch and dinner! And a some forest trails to explore around the surrounding hills !

I left on 31st December morning for Chamba enroute to Gangotri. In our 7 day road trip, our 2 night stay at the Chalo Daanda Forest Farm Homestay remains the highlight for our family. Warning: this is an offbeat place meant for folks who are happy to be in absolute silence of an Oak Forest (Banj) with a gorgeous view of the Himalayan range. This lovingly made farm stay has all the basic comforts: clean toilets, kettle in the room to heat your water, warm water for bathing (immersion rod), electricity, warm accommodation (we stayed during below zero temperatures) and gorgeous organic farm picked food and great cooking. What is priceless is the warmth of the family that has made and runs this homestay. This is their farm: their khachhar (donkey), cows and buffalo and dog share the farm with you. You are greeted with fab Lemon grass tea (locally grown) and with your food you will get Black Til chutney, an absolutely brilliant accompaniment. The food is simple, flavourful and healthy. Do not expect French fries and pasta here and be glad for that. *Please note the following:* - the walk up is a steep 45 min uphill walk. Please pack accordingly. The owners can send down local kids to help you. Please give them atleast Rs 200 each. - If you take your dog, please take care and do not let it sleep on your bed. Carry its own bedding so it does not spoil their bedding. - please minimise plastic usage as solid waste disposal is an issue in the rural communities - water is clear and from the spring. No need to carry bottled water. - carry hiking sticks to take advantage of the great local hikes around
