Float Homestay

A beautiful experience for us! We first visited floatstay in 2025 winters, hoping to escape from severe AQI levels of NCR. The whole experience was life changing, from day one. It's not just about the comfortable accomodation, or heavenly home made food by aunty, it's about roaming around the beautiful kotabagh, slow mornings, eating healthy, enjoying cool breeze from the terrace. The house is designed to be alive from all ends, with home grown vegetables and fruits. The greenery around the rooms, the cleanliness of the house and superb management by Arjun, everything comes as package to the people who come here. I have never experienced living like that elsewhere, how little and simple things change the way you vacay, work, and travel. When you're in Floatstay, you're surrounded with a family of highly intellectual individuals who care and make your experience worth it! Good weather, good food, clean property and good management! All thanks to Arjun and his lovely family. We have visited the house 3 times in 6 months, everytime for good 10 days! It feels like home, and probably for us it is home. A highly recommended stay from our end!

A true home away from home! Arjun and his family are the sweetest hosts—caring, welcoming, and always making sure you feel comfortable. The home-cooked food was delicious, the surroundings were pristine, with birdsong, and there were plenty of lovely trails to explore. Too good for words.

We stayed at Float homestay, Kotabagh, Uttarakhand along with our friends for a full month in April, 2026. The stay was exceptionally good. The rooms are well maintained but the open space (balcony) was the best part of our stay where we spent 80% of the time when not sleeping. There are flowers all around with sunbirds visiting every now & then. The location is close to the mountains & the breeze coming from there was awesome. The sunsets were too good. Our entire stay was enjoyable & comfortable due to two main reasons. The first being host family. Sharmas are very warm hearted people. Arjun always exceeded our expectations. They are so .. so good that we were like part of their family. The second reason is the food they served. Aunty is fantastic cook & made everything so tasty with minimal masalas. It was a kind of treat every day. Though we had planned to cook ourselves few times in their fully equipped kitchen, we never felt it necessary. Everything was served very professionally. They also offered fruits (mulberries, bananas etc) from their organic farm. Wow they were damn good. Sharma uncle were always trying to make our stay more & more comfortable. Arjun is a gem of a person, less talkative, but exceptional in his response to any of our requests. He did so many things for us which were never part of his responsibilities. Last but not least, this place is birdwatchers dream. We saw many different birds & saw them from very close distance. Few names to mention - Spotted Owlets, Indian peafowls, Parakeets, Spot-winged starlings, Common hawk cuckoos, White-crested laughingthrushes, Sunbirds, Oriols, Barbets, Woodpeckers (Greater & lesser flameback, Greater yellownape, Pygmi, Grey-headed etc), Orange-bellied leafbird, Bulbuls (Himalayan, Ashy, Black-crested etc) & other commoners. The Corbett NP is close & jungle safari possible in one day trip. Nainital is also close by. We also went to Sattal & Ranikhet for birding during our stay. To conclude, I will give 10 stars if possible on all counts. Thanks you Arjun, Sharma Uncle & Auntie. We will definitely visit again.

Words can not justify this place. It's perfect combination of comfert, trenquile serenity, cleanliness, View and very warm host Arjun and his family, on top of that homely cooked nutrition food by Arjuna's mom was the crowing element. Place is extremely well maintained with cleanliness and fully equipped kitchen. Room has natural air and ventilation with amazing hill view. We travelled from Dubai, had flight till Delhi then 7 hr by road. Place is worth this travel. After meeting warm family, settling in fresh aired room, and specially having food by Aunty we were fully charged and refreshed. We have booked for 1 night, which we extended for another 3 night. And still couldn't get enough of it so requested for 3 more night extension but unfortunately it was advance booked by some regular guest. But Arjun helped us to shift to their another property for 3 night. Definitely this is our anytime go place now.

Basic but has everything you'd need. Hygiene is my biggest critetia and this place aces that. The kitchen is well organized, clean and well equipped. Arjun is a super host. A quick chat with his father was very warm and informative for us. Looking forward to visit again.
